[Dengue Fever Prevention and Control] As the temperature rises, insect eggs begin to hatch, so mosquito prevention and control must be timely!

In my country, dengue fever is mainly spread by Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti. Aedes albopictus mainly overwinters as eggs. In March and April, when the rainfall increases and the temperature gradually rises, the eggs begin to hatch and eventually turn into adult mosquitoes. Therefore, in order to better prevent and control dengue fever, it is necessary to promptly carry out breeding ground treatment and adult mosquito killing in important Aedes albopictus habitats, reduce the breeding base of Aedes albopictus, and lay a good foundation for dengue fever prevention and control this year.

1. Regularly clean all places where water may accumulate in the house. The rooftop and basement should not be left out. In addition to water accumulation in traditional containers such as jars, buckets, basins, and cups, you should also pay attention to water accumulation in plastic bags, tree holes, leaves, weeds and soil piles, and canvas sheds that shelter from the rain.

2. For stagnant water that cannot be transformed, regular application of pesticides or fish farming can be adopted. For stagnant water that is difficult to handle due to large amount of stagnant water and high density of mosquito larvae, pesticides can be applied to kill mosquito larvae before handling the stagnant water.

3. Pour stagnant water that is easy to pour out onto the ground to allow the water to seep into the soil or dry in the sun. Do not pour stagnant water into the sewer to prevent mosquito larvae from continuing to grow and hatch in the sewer.

4. The water of aquatic plants should be changed and the containers and plant roots should be cleaned every week to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes.

5. Use mosquito repellent when going out and install screen windows and doors indoors.

6. When disposing of wet garbage, ensure that the garbage bags are properly sealed to avoid becoming a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
