What gynecological diseases can be treated by acupuncture?

As a traditional treatment method in Chinese medicine, acupuncture has a good therapeutic effect on many diseases, especially some gynecological diseases, which often have an immediate effect. So what gynecological diseases can Chinese medicine acupuncture treat?

1. Irregular menstruation

Acupuncture has a certain effect on irregular menstruation, but it should be noted that acupuncture is based on the principle of syndrome differentiation and treatment. It uses corresponding acupoints on the basis of syndrome differentiation, and has a good therapeutic effect on various menstrual disorders caused by various causes.

In clinical medicine, some patients with amenorrhea, menstruation delay or scanty menstruation gradually restored normal menstruation after acupuncture therapy. Commonly selected acupoints include those on the back, abdomen and feet, and the methods used include warm acupuncture, electroacupuncture and manual acupuncture treatment. For patients with long-term menstrual disorders, if they can seek medical treatment and receive syndrome differentiation and treatment, and combine traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture with Chinese medicine conditioning, the actual effect may be better.

2. Amenorrhea

Traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture can have good results in treating gynecological diseases such as amenorrhea, with Changqiang as the main point, and if the effect is not obvious, additional acupoints can be added. The patient lies prone, and an acupoint is selected in the depression between the coccyx and the anus. The needle is inserted 1 inch deep, and strong stimulation techniques are applied. The needle is retained for 20 minutes, and the needle is moved once every 5 minutes. Acupuncture points: acupuncture of the first three points, moderate stimulation, tonification method or flat smear and flat drainage method. This treatment needs to be performed by a professional acupuncturist.

3. Primary dysmenorrhea

There are two types of dysmenorrhea: primary and secondary. Generally speaking, acupuncture treatment is effective for primary dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea refers to a condition in which there is no pain at first, but it is caused by some special reasons, such as getting angry, catching a cold, and other external factors. For the treatment of this type of disease, Chinese medicine acupuncture is usually more effective than taking medicine. Secondary dysmenorrhea refers to dysmenorrhea caused by certain diseases, such as endometriosis, and the primary disease needs to be treated first.

4. Polycystic ovarian syndrome

On the one hand, acupuncture can regulate the endocrine system by regulating the function of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis. On the other hand, acupuncture can also improve insulin resistance and lose weight and lower blood lipids by regulating abnormal glucose and lipid metabolism. Moreover, this effect of acupuncture is achieved by stimulating the essential functions of the body's own tissues and organs. It can regulate the body's endocrine function in multiple ways and targets, increase blood testosterone and insulin levels, reduce LH levels or return the LH/FSH ratio to normal, thereby restoring the normal ovulation function of the uterus and ovaries.
