Pictures of nipple changes during pregnancy

After a woman becomes pregnant, the most obvious symptom is amenorrhea. Afterwards, the breasts will also undergo a series of changes. The changes in pregnant mothers' breasts are all due to changes in human hormones, so there is no need to worry too much. The breast is the food storehouse for newborns after birth. Therefore, throughout pregnancy, the growth and development of the breasts changes along with the growth and development of the baby, in order to adapt to the needs of breastfeeding after delivery. Let’s take a look at the changes that occur in a woman’s breasts after giving birth.

1. Breast pain

From the moment the sperm and egg combine with the uterus, the testosterone in the woman's body begins to change. Among them, one of the most obvious signs is breast sensitivity and pain. It is caused by the increase of female hormones in the expectant mother's body. This feeling of distension and pain is very similar to what women feel before their period, but it is more obvious. This sign will improve significantly after the third month of pregnancy, when the body has already adapted to the changes in male hormones during pregnancy.

2. Breast enlargement

Breast enlargement is the most obvious and visible change for all women after pregnancy. Under the effect of estrogen, the breasts of expectant mothers will gradually swell in order to ensure sufficient breast milk for the baby in the future. During the 3rd and 4th months of pregnancy, the breasts will grow faster, grow very slowly in the second half of pregnancy, and then expand in the third half of pregnancy. As for how much the breasts can grow during pregnancy, it depends on the pregnant mothers. Some pregnant women's breast changes are not very obvious, while some pregnant women's breasts can even grow up to three times the normal size. Therefore, pregnant mothers need to pay special attention to nutritional supplements during pregnancy.

3. Darkening of the areola

During pregnancy, women's breasts enlarge and their nipples also enlarge and darken. This is because under the stimulation of estrogen, prolactin and luteinizing hormone, the mammary glands begin to proliferate, and the nipples expand due to the expansion of the sebaceous glands and the deposition of melanin. Throughout pregnancy, the color of the nipples will become darker and continue until the end of pregnancy. The size of the nipples also varies from person to person. Women should deal with this change with a normal mentality. After the nursing period, the nipples will shrink and fade slightly, but they may not necessarily return to their original appearance.
