Ding Dong! Keep this eye protection guide after the holidays to help you keep your eyes bright all year round

Although the Spring Festival holiday has ended, there were more entertainment activities during the holiday, and the eyes were under high pressure for a long time. After the holiday, it is even more important to develop scientific eye care habits to prevent various eye problems and lay a solid foundation for eye health throughout the year.

1. Use electronic products reasonably and practice scientific eye protection

During the Spring Festival, there are many activities such as visiting relatives and friends and leisure and entertainment, and the frequency of using electronic products also increases significantly.

However, staring at the screen for a long time will not only cause eye fatigue and dryness, but also accelerate the development of myopia. The Xiangdong Hospital affiliated to Hunan Normal University recommends that everyone adjust their eye habits in a timely manner:

1. It is recommended to follow the internationally recognized "20-20-20" eye protection rule: for every 20 minutes of close eye use, look at objects 20 feet (about 6 meters) away for more than 20 seconds.

2. Control the usage time: When using electronic products non-essentially, it is recommended that the single usage should not exceed 15 minutes and the cumulative usage should not exceed 1 hour per day. Children should shorten the time as appropriate.

3. Adjust the screen brightness: adjust the screen to a brightness that suits the ambient light to avoid being too bright or too dark.

4. Keep distance: Keep a viewing distance of 50-70 cm between the screen and eyes.

2. Standardize reading and writing posture and optimize the lighting environment

The correct posture should maintain the "three ones" standard: eyes are one foot (33cm) away from the book, chest is one fist (6-8cm) away from the edge of the table, and fingers are one inch (3cm) away from the tip of the pen.

The lighting environment must meet the following requirements:

1. The illumination in the reading and writing area shall not be less than 300 lux (it is recommended to use a professional eye protection lamp).

2. Avoid direct strong light and stroboscopic light sources.

3. Ensure that the light is even and without shadows.

3. Increase outdoor activities and make good use of natural light

Ensuring more than 2 hours of exposure to natural light every day can effectively promote retinal dopamine secretion and inhibit excessive growth of the eye axis.

It is recommended to play badminton, table tennis and other sports that require switching between near and far vision. It is recommended to choose the time period before 10 am or after 3 pm to avoid strong ultraviolet rays while ensuring light intensity.

4. Scientific diet combination to strengthen eye nutrition

Things to note when eating after the festival:

1. Increase the intake of foods rich in Omega-3 (deep-sea fish), lutein (spinach, corn), and vitamin ACE (carrots, blueberries).

2. Control the intake of refined sugar (no more than 25g per day) to avoid inducing accommodative myopia.

3. Supplement trace elements such as zinc (shellfish) and calcium (dairy products) to maintain normal contraction of eye muscles.

5. Strictly follow hygiene guidelines to prevent eye damage

1. Develop the "three no" habits: do not rub your eyes with dirty hands, do not share eye products, and do not use eye drops without authorization.

2. Clean your hands thoroughly after handling frozen food.

3. Wear protective glasses when participating in festive activities, and be especially vigilant against potential sources of danger such as fireworks.

6. Establish vision files and implement dynamic monitoring

It is recommended to take your child to a professional optometry examination every 3-6 months to establish a vision file that includes parameters such as axial length and corneal curvature. If symptoms such as persistent blurred vision, frequent dry eyes and photophobia, and abnormal visual double vision occur, seek medical attention immediately.

Eye health requires constant maintenance. Let us integrate scientific eye care concepts into our daily lives and protect a bright future. In the new year, I hope every friend can embrace every wonderful moment of life with clear eyes.
