Contraceptive pills can relieve dysmenorrhea caused by hormonal stimulation to a certain extent. Excessive prostaglandins contained in menstrual blood can cause strong contractions of the uterus and eventually cause dysmenorrhea. Contraceptive pills can inhibit ovulation and reduce prostaglandins, thereby relieving dysmenorrhea, especially for primary dysmenorrhea. However, not all patients with dysmenorrhea can be relieved by taking birth control pills. Before taking birth control pills, you must ensure that there are no contraindications.

People with the following diseases should never use contraceptive pills to treat dysmenorrhea

If you suffer from the above diseases, you cannot use contraceptives to treat dysmenorrhea, because some ingredients in contraceptives have the effect of dilating blood vessels. Dysmenorrhea can only be treated with simple progestin drugs.

Massage to relieve menstrual cramps

Massage your upper abdomen. Lie on your back on the bed, rub your hands together to warm them up first, then put them on the upper abdomen, massage from top to bottom 60 to 100 times, then massage from left to right 60 to 100 times, and finally massage in circles 60 times until the local skin becomes rosy. Do this once in the morning and once in the evening.

Massage the Xuehai point. This point is located on the inner side of the human thigh, from the upper corner of the inner side of the kneecap, there is a groove of muscle about three fingers wide above it, and you will feel pain when you press it. The massage method is to rub your hands to warm them up first, then press on the Xuehai point, and massage in a clockwise direction for five minutes.

Massage the Zusanli acupoint. Press the top of the knee with the palm of one hand. The Sanli point is one horizontal finger outward from the top of the middle finger. You can use acupuncture or press repeatedly with your thumb.

Massage acupressure points. The feet contain acupressure points that are believed to be connected to the qi pathways in the pelvic area. There are acupressure points in the depressions on both sides of the ankles. Gently pinch with your thumb and other fingertips, and then move up along the Achilles tendon to the calf muscle. After finishing the right foot, switch to the left foot and continue pressing each foot for a few minutes.
