Science in the Realm: The Human Brain Project

The brain is the command center of the entire body. It makes us who we are, receives information from our senses and controls our thoughts and movements. In order to better explore this incredibly complex organ, scientists have divided it into four major parts: the cerebrum, diencephalon, cerebellum, and brainstem. The largest part is the cerebrum, which is composed of more than 14 billion brain cells and is the most advanced and complex organ in the body. It is divided into two hemispheres, just like the earth, which consists of two cerebral hemispheres. The outer layer is the cerebral cortex, and different areas perform different physiological functions. It is the most developed organ in the human brain.

This world is wonderful. Eyes are the material basis for people to understand the world. They are responsible for receiving light information and sending it to the cerebral cortex through the visual conduction pathway to form vision. The cerebral cortex is divided into four areas. The frontal lobe is responsible for personality and emotions, higher thinking abilities such as problem-solving and movement control. The temporal lobe helps process your hearing and other senses, and helps with language and reading. The parietal lobe is related to your senses, concentration and language. The occipital lobe helps your eyes see things, including recognizing shapes and colors. Therefore, the eyes are like a camera responsible for imaging, and the brain is responsible for analyzing and processing visual signals to form the final visual perception.

The human brain is divided into two hemispheres, left and right, each with different functions. The main function of the left hemisphere is to conduct logical reasoning and language expression, while the main function of the right hemisphere is to conduct spatial and image thinking. The left brain stores all information after birth, while the right brain retains and stores all information left to future generations through genetic factors. The right brain does not require a lot of energy to work efficiently, and the amount of information it stores is 100,000 times that of the left brain. Modern scientific research shows that the development and utilization of the right brain function will have a positive significance for the coordination of the entire brain and promoting the breadth and flexibility of thinking. In fact, the human brain has unlimited potential. When the left and right brains are perfectly combined, it is the day of success.

The cerebellum plays an important role in motor control, coordination, and spatial orientation. We can find our way out of a maze thanks to the cerebellum.

So which part of the human brain functions as the vestibular sense?

Below the brain is the brain stem, which connects the brain and the spinal cord. In front of the brain stem is a small radar-like sensory organ called the vestibular nucleus. The function of the nervous system composed of it is vestibular sense. The study of vestibular sense is of great significance in aviation and navigation.

The human brain, composed of billions of neurons or nerve cells that communicate through trillions of connections, is one of the most complex and fascinating organs in the human body. Modern technology helps us gain a deeper understanding of the mysteries of the human brain, but this is just a small step. As technology advances, we will continue to explore this most mysterious organ and continue to expand the boundaries of our cognition and innovation. Let us work together with curiosity and respect to unlock the deepest secrets of the human brain and transform its unlimited potential into a better and smarter future.
