What is the best time to get orthodontic treatment?

1. Primary teeth period: 3-5 years old

It mainly targets malocclusions such as crossbite of deciduous teeth (commonly known as underbite) and mandibular protrusion, and promptly corrects bad habits such as tongue sticking out, lip biting, finger sucking, and mouth breathing to promote the normal development of children's maxillofacial region.

2. Tooth replacement period: Partial malocclusion may occur between the ages of 6 and 12 , and generally does not require correction. However, for other abnormal conditions such as anterior crossbite, abnormal facial shape, bad oral habits, etc., it is necessary to go to the oral department of the hospital to see an orthodontist for examination to determine the cause and clarify the treatment plan.

3. Permanent dentition period: 12-15 years old. This period is the best time for tooth correction. Children's permanent dentition is generally replaced around the age of 12. Misaligned permanent dentition can only be corrected through orthodontic treatment.

4. Adult correction: no age limit
