Beware! "Hidden dangers to eyes" under high pressure in the workplace...

Eyes are the windows to the soul and an important tool for observing the world. However, modern young people are under great pressure in the workplace and have a fast pace of life. They have a weak awareness of eye protection and spend more and more time staring at computers and other electronic products every day, which puts more and more pressure on their eyes.

What is blue eyelid syndrome?
Green eyelash syndrome is a special eye disease characterized by recurrent unilateral glaucoma combined with cyclitis. The disease was first described by doctors Posner and Schlossman, hence the name. The main features of green eyelash syndrome are unilateral, recurrent elevated intraocular pressure and mild visual impairment, accompanied by inflammatory manifestations of cyclitis.

Causes of Blue Eyelash Syndrome
The cause of blue eyelash syndrome is not yet fully understood, but it is generally believed to be related to autoimmune diseases, spontaneous inflammatory diseases, and infection. Some studies have shown that Helicobacter pylori infection and cytomegalovirus infection may be related to the onset of blue eyelash syndrome.

Pathogenesis of blue eyelash syndrome
In terms of pathogenesis, blue eyelash syndrome is mainly caused by increased aqueous humor production and decreased aqueous humor flow coefficient. The content of prostaglandins (PGS) in aqueous humor increases significantly during the onset of the disease, which may lead to uveal vasodilation and increased permeability of the blood-aqueous humor barrier, thereby causing increased aqueous humor production and anterior segment inflammation. At the same time, PGS may also reduce the aqueous humor flow coefficient by inhibiting the release of norepinephrine from sympathetic nerve endings, leading to increased intraocular pressure.

Clinical manifestations of blue eyelash syndrome
The clinical manifestations of blue eyelash syndrome mainly include the following aspects:

1. The disease occurs in one eye and recurs repeatedly, occasionally affecting both eyes.

2. Paroxysmal increase in intraocular pressure can reach 40-60 mmHg. Each attack usually lasts 1-14 days and can recover on its own.

3. There are no subjective symptoms during the attack, only mild discomfort, and vision is generally normal.

4. The pupil is slightly enlarged, reacts to light, and posterior synechiae does not occur.

5. There are a few cells floating in the aqueous humor, and grayish white, small or large, flat deposits (KP) may appear on the posterior wall of the cornea.

Prevention of blue eyelash syndrome
1. It is recommended to have a comprehensive eye examination at least once a year, including vision test and intraocular pressure measurement, etc. This helps to detect and treat potential eye problems early.

2. In daily life, pay attention to personal hygiene and avoid rubbing your eyes with your hands to reduce the risk of infection. Be careful to avoid contact with substances that may cause eye discomfort or inflammation, such as chemicals, smoke, etc.

3. Adults should ensure 7-8 hours of high-quality sleep every night. Adequate sleep helps restore the function of eye tissue, improve the body's immunity, and reduce the probability of immune response.
