Fever, sore throat, rash, this disease is very common recently!

This disease is scarlet fever, and there is currently no vaccine to prevent it.

High incidence season : generally in winter and spring every year.

Affected population : The general population is susceptible, especially children in childcare and school age.

Main symptoms: fever, sore throat, and rash.

How can parents judge whether their children have scarlet fever? You can judge by "first looking at the mouth, second looking at the tongue, and third looking at the rash".

First look at the mouth: most children with the disease have sore throat. When the children open their mouths, the throat will be congested and there will be white exudate around it.

Second, look at the tongue: The tongue also has congestion spots, a bit like strawberry. After 2-3 days, the white part of the tongue coating falls off, and the tongue looks a bit like bayberry.

Third, look at the rash: The rash will begin to appear within 24 hours after the child has a fever, starting from behind the ears and neck, then spreading to the trunk and limbs, evenly distributed, fading when pressed, and accompanied by an itchy sensation. After the rash subsides, the skin will peel off.

Scarlet fever can be transmitted through droplets or contact. Therefore, pay attention to personal hygiene, wash hands frequently, and ventilate the room frequently. Wear a mask as much as possible when you go to crowded places. Supplies contaminated by patients can be boiled for disinfection. If they cannot be boiled, they can be scrubbed and disinfected with soapy water or disinfectant. Items that cannot be scrubbed can be exposed outdoors for 1-2 hours.

If your child is diagnosed with scarlet fever, he or she should avoid going to school and seek medical treatment immediately. Follow the doctor's advice to choose appropriate antibiotics to control the infection. You can rinse your mouth with warm salt water 3-4 times a day. Pay attention to rest more and get enough sleep every day.
