Which part is better for moxibustion of uterine cold?

Uterine cold is a common disease among women, which is usually manifested by dysmenorrhea during menstruation, as well as menstrual disorders and late menstruation. It can also cause infertility.

For moxibustion treatment of uterine cold, you can choose acupoints on the abdomen, the lumbar region, and the inner side of the lower limbs.

First, because the uterus is in the lower abdomen, when uterine cold occurs, use moxa sticks to choose three inches below the navel. This area is called Guan Yuan, which is where the vital energy is located. Moxibustion this area can replenish yang energy and treat cold and dampness in the body. This area is also relatively close to the uterus. Second, the lumbar sacrum in the back. The lumbosacral region is located from the gluteal fissure to the bottom of the lumbar spine. There are eight sacral points in this area, which are often used to treat some gynecological diseases in the abdominal cavity.

When performing moxibustion, directly select this part. Acupuncture or moxibustion on this part can warm the yang, dispel cold and relieve pain.

Third, Sanyinjiao of the lower limbs is usually moxibustioned on both sides.

Sanyinjiao is located three inches above the inner ankle of the foot, which means you can just place your finger there and take it directly, using the one-finger method. Sanyinjiao is an important acupoint in gynecology. Moxibustion on this point has a good therapeutic effect on some cold syndromes or deficiency syndromes.

The main causes of infertility due to uterine cold are cold stagnation, qi deficiency or spleen and kidney yang deficiency. If the patient has a cold stagnation constitution, he or she may usually have dysmenorrhea, accompanied by a cold abdomen and cold hands and feet. Such patients are recommended to use moxibustion treatment to promote the circulation of qi and blood, improve ovulation function, and increase the chance of conception. In clinical practice, for infertile patients, the cause should be actively investigated to find out whether the infertility symptoms are caused by spleen yang deficiency, kidney yang deficiency or qi deficiency, and timely symptomatic treatment should be given, which can increase the chance of pregnancy to a certain extent.
