There is a kind of "breathing pain" called - dry nasal cavity!

Missing you is a pain that breathes, it lives in every corner of my body...

I believe everyone is familiar with this song, "Breathing Pain", but do you know? There is another kind of breathing pain called - dry nasal cavity!

The nasal cavity is not only a passage for air to enter the lungs, but also an air purifier for our respiratory tract. It turns the airflow passing through into warm and humid gas that our airways like.

There are also abundant blood vessels under the nasal mucosa, which regulate the temperature in our nasal cavity like an air conditioner. When the air reaches the back of the nasal cavity, it becomes warm and humid air that is consistent with our body temperature. It is simply a natural and pollution-free air conditioner.

The mucus glands in the nasal mucosa can absorb dust and microorganisms in the air. Its duty is to be a diligent scavenger.

Although we sometimes dislike the nose hairs growing out of our nostrils, they are really an indispensable line of defense that can block a lot of dust in the air and form a natural barrier.

Such a useful heating, humidification and dust-blocking system often fails to operate normally due to internal and external troubles.

So what is the variable that this system fears the most? It is drying. So what kind of impact will drying bring?

First, it affects the temperature-regulating ability of the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, making the incoming air dry and cold, thereby irritating the airways.

It will also affect the secretion of mucus glands and reduce the self-purification function of our nasal cavity.

At the same time, dryness will turn nasal secretions into dry scabs, affecting the distribution and mobility of nasal hair and reducing the defense function.

In addition, it will make the nasal mucosa more fragile and easily damaged, causing repeated nosebleeds. In fact, nasal dryness is not a single disease, it is a common symptom of some nasal diseases. What are the main causes? For example, various types of rhinitis, surgery, systemic malnutrition, etc.

For long-standing nasal dryness problems, the following specialist recommendations are given:

First, identify the cause and actively treat the primary disease

Secondly, perform nasal irrigation to maintain a moist environment in the nasal cavity.

Patients are also advised to use nasal moisturizers

In addition to these targeted treatments, there is also a set of simple and easy rhinitis exercises to assist in treatment:

The first action: rub the bridge of the nose: use the index fingers of both hands to rub back and forth along the sides of the bridge of the nose, from the nose tip to the nose root, until the nasal cavity feels hot. Do three sets a day, 30-40 times each set

The second action: massage the Yingxiang point, which is located at the nasolabial groove and nasolabial folds, level with the lower edge of the nose. Use the tip of your index finger to massage it clockwise and counterclockwise 20 times each.

The third action: Massage the Yintang acupoint, using the tip of your index finger and the middle finger to assist, from the midpoint between the eyebrows to the hairline, going up and down 20-30 times, three sets, until you feel redness.

Finally, I wish you all smooth breathing and a healthy life!
