It is common in clinical medicine to see granulation tissue on the episiotomy wound after childbirth. Some mothers can recover on their own, but if the condition is serious, you need to go to the hospital in time and let a professional doctor conduct relevant examinations and use surgery to remove the small granules to prevent the disease from becoming malignant.

How to deal with the pain of episiotomy wound after childbirth

It is normal to have pain in the perineum wound after giving birth, which usually subsides within 1 to 2 weeks after giving birth. If the pain is severe, pay attention to whether the wound is swollen, hot, or pus-filled. If so, go to the hospital immediately. If there is no pain, but it is painful, pay attention to the cleanliness of the perineum, clean the private parts with clean water every day, do not use various lotions, you can use benzalkonium chloride solution to disinfect. If the pain is severe, you can take some acetaminophen to relieve the pain, which will not affect breastfeeding.

Common problems with episiotomy wounds after childbirth

1. Keep the wound clean and dry. The hospital will have comprehensive cleaning measures within 3 days after the operation, and the private parts should be cleaned with a lotion with disinfectant effect. After hospitalization, pregnant women are required to wash their vulva with cold water or lotion every day. It is best to do it twice a day if possible.

2. Keep private parts clean. Change underwear and sanitary napkins in time to keep the private parts clean and dry. Mothers should clean the perineum with tap water after going to the toilet, and wipe it with a handkerchief, then wipe it back to the back to prevent bacterial infection.

3. When sleeping or lying in bed, it is best to sleep on the side without perineal wound to reduce the chance of postpartum lochia infiltrating into the perineal wound.

4. Avoid strenuous work. There is no need to lift anything, do any energy-consuming housework or exercise within one month after giving birth. Too much physical activity too early and too hard may cause damage to the pelvic tissue and even lead to uterine prolapse in the elderly.

Warm reminder, after episiotomy, mothers should ensure a nutritious diet, drink plenty of water, and also do moderate exercise. It is not suitable to stay in bed all the time, as moderate exercise is conducive to wound healing. In addition, pay attention to ensure the cleanliness of private parts, and expose the underwear to the sun, and be careful not to let the wound get infected.
