Wedge-shaped defects refer to the gradual loss of hard tissue at the neck of the tooth under the long-term action of certain factors, forming a wedge-shaped defect composed of two smooth inclined surfaces. It is a relatively common non-carious hard tissue disease of the tooth. In addition to causing aesthetic problems, the greater harm of wedge-shaped defects is that they may cause dentin hypersensitivity, pulp disease and periapical disease, and even lead to crown fracture. Improper brushing methods are a major cause of the occurrence and development of wedge-shaped defects. Due to the use of incorrect brushing methods, patients often damage their teeth without knowing it, and when they find irreversible damage, it may be too late. We hope to increase the public's awareness of wedge-shaped defects by comparing strong horizontal brushing to sawing a tree and supplementing it with text interpretation, warn the public of the serious consequences of incorrect brushing methods and educate the public to correct their brushing methods, thereby improving the public's self-oral health level and actively preventing the occurrence and development of wedge-shaped defects.
