Why do blood clots occur during menstruation?

Menstruation is caused by the shedding of a woman's uterine wall. The blood and the shedding uterine wall mix together and are discharged from the body, becoming menstruation. If the fallen uterine wall is large, blood clots will form. In most cases, the appearance of blood clots indicates excessive menstrual flow. As long as there is no discomfort and the amount of blood clots is not too large, it is normal and there is no need to worry too much.

Although the appearance of blood clots during menstruation is a normal phenomenon, female friends should not sit idly by, but should find out the cause of the blood clots and take care of the body effectively. Generally speaking, the following three conditions can cause the appearance of blood clots during women's menstrual period.

1. The human body is exposed to too much cold: If you do not pay attention to keeping warm during menstruation, the human body will be exposed to too much cold, causing uterine cold and causing menstruation to coagulate, resulting in blood clots. Therefore, during the menstrual period, we need to pay great attention to keeping warm. There is no need to take a cold shower or wash your hair, and do not eat cold foods such as ice cream. Especially in winter, you should wear more clothes when going out to prevent the body from being invaded by dampness and causing problems.

2. Sitting for a long time: Sitting for a long time will cause menstrual deposits in the body. If they are not cleared in time, they will coagulate into lumps, which will compress the endometrium of female friends and cause menstrual pain. Therefore, during the menstrual period, female friends do not have to squat and work at a desk all day, but should go out for a walk and exercise to prevent the body from coagulating and causing pain during menstruation.

3. Gynecological diseases: Although the appearance of blood clots during menstruation is normal, if a large number of black blood clots appear frequently and continuously, you need to be vigilant! Some gynecological diseases may also cause a lot of blood clots in women during menstruation, such as abnormal position of the uterus (protrusion or retroversion), uterine fibroids, endometritis or polyps, etc. At this time, female friends should go to the hospital for diagnosis and examination in time to avoid missing the best time for treatment of the disease and aggravating the symptoms.
