How much do you know about angina pectoris?

1. Concept:

Angina pectoris is a clinical syndrome caused by acute and temporary myocardial ischemia and hypoxia due to insufficient coronary blood supply.

2. Disease related knowledge:

1. The most common cause: coronary atherosclerosis.

2. Clinical manifestations: paroxysmal chest pain.

Location: behind the sternum or in front of the heart, often radiating to the left shoulder and inner side of the left arm.

Nature: Oppression, tightness and burning sensation in the chest.

Common triggers: tiredness, fullness, cold, and emotional excitement.

Duration: 3~5 minutes.

Relief: Rest or sublingual nitroglycerin within a few minutes.

3. Medication Guidance:

1. Keep taking medication to prevent angina attacks.

2. Before exercising or getting emotionally excited, take nitroglycerin tablets to prevent angina attacks.

3. Carry nitroglycerin tablets with you.

4. Nitroglycerin should be stored away from light, placed in a fixed place, and replaced every six months.

4. Treatment of angina pectoris:

1. Rest on the spot immediately.

2. Immediately take a nitroglycerin tablet sublingually. If the pain is not relieved, repeat every five minutes, up to a maximum of three times.

3. Sometimes the symptoms of angina pectoris are atypical, manifested as upper abdominal discomfort, chest tightness or toothache, and should be treated as angina pectoris first.

5. Daily health care:

1. Avoid overeating, emotional excitement and cold stimulation.

2. Eat a low-salt, low-fat diet, quit smoking, and actively control hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia.

3. Appropriate exercise: such as jogging, Tai Chi, walking, etc.
