Counterpoint: Global mobile phone sales in Q3 2024 increased by 2% year-on-year to 307 million units

According to recent news, research firm Counterpoint Research announced the global mobile phone sales in the third quarter of 2024 and the sales rankings of mobile phone manufacturers in various regions.

First, global smartphone sales increased by 2% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2024, with shipments reaching 307 million units. This is the first time that year-on-year growth has been achieved in the third quarter since the third quarter of 2018.

Global smartphone revenue increased 10% year-on-year, and average selling price increased 7%. Both revenue and average selling price hit record highs.

In the European market, the top five mobile phone manufacturers in terms of sales are: Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, Realme, and Honor;

In the US market, the top four mobile phone manufacturers in terms of sales are: Apple, Samsung, Lenovo, and HMD;

The Middle East non-smartphone market saw a year-on-year decline of 11% due to inventory backlogs in the previous quarter. Realme successfully ranked among the top five, and Samsung continued to maintain its leading position.

In addition, in the third quarter of 2024, the top five manufacturers in global foldable screen mobile phone sales are: Samsung, Huawei, Honor, Motorola and Xiaomi.
