Apple iPhone activation share in China hits new high in October 2024

With the release of iPhone 16, the activation volume of Apple phones in the Chinese market has surged. According to the latest data, in the week of W41, the activation volume share of Apple phones in the Chinese market has almost risen in a straight line to more than 26%, approaching 27%. Apple's growth rate is far ahead of other brands, while Huawei, Xiaomi, vivo (including iQOO), Honor, and OPPO (including OnePlus) rank second to sixth respectively. This also sparked heated discussions among netizens, and some people even bluntly said that the more people complain about the iPhone 16, the more they buy it. Some analysts said that the sharp increase in Apple’s mobile phone activation share is related to the price adjustment of the iPhone. For example, Apple’s official flagship store announced Double 11 discounts, with the highest discount for the iPhone 16 series being 1,600 yuan (including trade-in subsidies), and all four models of mobile phones having a discount of 500 yuan. Previous agency data showed that iPhone 16 sales in the first three weeks after its launch in the Chinese market increased by 20% compared with the iPhone 15 in 2023.
