Reproductive examination

Female genitalia examination refers to the exposed part of the female reproductive organs, also known as the private parts. Including the mons pubis, labia majora, labia minora, clitoris, vaginal vestibule, Bartholin's glands, vestibular bulbs, urethral orifice, vulva and ruptured hymen.

1. Mons pubis.

The mons pubis is the part of the private part that protrudes in front of the ischial tuberosity and is composed of skin and a thick layer of fat. Below the mons pubis are the labia majora on both sides. During puberty, pubic hair begins to grow on the mons pubis skin, and its distribution is a triangle with a downward point. The rich adipose tissue under the skin of the mons pubis and the pubic hair on the skin play a supporting and shock-absorbing role during sexual intercourse.

2. Labia majora

The labia majora are a pair of long, ring-shaped, raised skin folds on both sides of the private parts, close to the inner sides of the thighs. The labia majora contain sebaceous and epidermal glands. The skin on the outer side is pigmented and has male pubic hair on it; the inner side is light pink, close to the mucous membrane, and has no pubic hair on it. The labia majora of adult single women and obese women are of course close together, covering the labia minora, vulva and urethra. The labia majora of a primipara will separate to the sides due to the impact of childbirth.

3. Labia minora.

The labia minora are a pair of thin mucosal wrinkles located on the inner side of the labia majora, with a smooth, hairless and moist surface. The color is brown or pink, bright red, black, white and red. The lower part of the labia minora converges at the bottom of the vulva and develops and connects with the back end of the labia majora to form the frenulum. There is a rich nerve distribution under the labia minora mucosa, so it feels sensitive. Very similar to the male urethral labia.

4. Yindi.

The clitoris, also known as the clitoris, is located at the top between the labia minora and is the meeting point of the upper labia majora. It is a small cylindrical human organ, surrounded by the clitoral hood, about 4 cm long. The tail end is a round opening with a large tip called the glans clitoris. The surface layer of skin is connected to the inner end by a thin bundle of hardened tissue.

5. Urethra opening.

The external urethral opening is close to the outer edge of the ischial tuberosity and the middle of the vulva, just below the clitoris. It is an irregular oval-shaped small round hole through which urine is discharged. There is a pair of glandular ducts on the posterior wall, called paraurethral glands, which open on the posterior wall of the urethral opening and are often where pathogens lurk. Because the urethral opening is short and straight, and is located between the clitoris and the vulva, it is often easy to bring bacteria into the urethral opening during sexual intercourse, causing infection. Just below the urethral opening is the vaginal opening.

6. Vulva.

The vaginal opening is below the urethral opening. It is the passage inside the vagina. The plastic film at the entrance is the broken hymen.
