Counterpoint: Galaxy S24 global sales to grow 8% year-on-year by February 2024

According to media reports, Samsung's Galaxy S24 series products released earlier this year introduced "Galaxy AI", which includes both end-side AI functions and cloud-based AI comprehensive experience. According to market research firm Counterpoint Research, from January 28 to February 17, global sales of Galaxy S24 increased by 8% compared with the previous generation Galaxy S23 series in the same period last year, especially in the domestic Korean market, which increased by 22% compared with the previous generation.

In Western Europe, sales were up 28%, driven by strong bookings in the U.K., Germany and France. U.S. sales were also up 14%.

The most expensive model, the S24 Ultra, accounted for 52% of total sales, followed by the S24 (27%) and the S24 Plus (21%).

The Samsung S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra are Samsung's first phones to come pre-installed with AI features, including real-time language translation for use in messages and voice calls; summary of web pages and notes; and image and video editing capabilities based on generative AI.

Samsung previously stated that Galaxy AI features will be available for free on supported Samsung Galaxy devices until the end of 2025. The head of Samsung Electronics' MX division also gave a specific response to this concern, saying that Samsung will not consider monetizing the Galaxy AI business this year, but will focus on allowing more users to experience AI features.
