Sprout Social released the "2022 US Social Media Trends Report", the main findings include:

Talent comes first

Whether hiring for a practitioner, leader or specialist role, 88% of marketers expect to hire another team member in the next two years. More than half of respondents (62%) expect to hire between 2 and 6 new positions.

LinkedIn reports that social media manager is the third most in-demand marketing job title in 2022, while social media coordinator has the third highest year-over-year growth rate among all marketing jobs.

Content that consumers crave

74% of consumers believe the optimal amount of posts for brands is 1-2 posts per day.

Length matters. Consumers find short videos 2.5 times more engaging than long videos. In 2020, 50% of consumers say short-form is the most engaging type of content, and this is growing. By 2022, 66% of consumers will pay the most attention to short-form video content.
