The Master Lu 2022 Q3 mobile phone report is based on the data from the Master Lu data center from July 1, 2022 to September 30, 2022. The ranking results are all based on the test average data.

The report includes 8 lists in total : mobile phone performance list, mobile phone chip list, mobile phone fluency ranking, mobile phone UI fluency ranking, mobile phone AI ranking, mobile phone temperature ranking, Android new market share, and laboratory mobile game index .

Because HarmonyOS and Android UI do not belong to the same platform, the user scores based on Huawei's HarmonyOS compatible platform are not comparable horizontally. The relevant new phones are not included in the rankings for the time being. For test data, please pay attention to the Master Lu Laboratory test project.

Chip list: Dimensity 9000+ continues to lead the performance throne

In the third quarter, Qualcomm and MediaTek both launched the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 and Dimensity 9000+ with a "+" sign . Like the previous generation, the overall framework is no different, still the familiar ARMv9 semi-custom, 1+3+4 three-cluster design, and the cache capacity has not increased. The only change is that both have doubled their frequencies. The GPU models of both parties remain unchanged, and the frequencies are also doubled. Compared with the previous generation, each has improved its performance by about 10% .

Judging from the data, the Dimensity 9000+ can only be said to have won by a narrow margin, with the CPU being about 10,000 points higher, while the GPU scores are comparable. Compared with the previous generation, the CPUs of the Dimensity 9000+ and Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 have both increased by 40,000 to 50,000 points, and the GPU has increased even more, by about 60,000 points.

The Q3 performance rankings are dominated by Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 and Dimensity 9000+ . The ROG6 Dimensity Extreme Edition, which was newly released in September, topped the rankings with a score of 1.267 million, far ahead of other models. This score also officially announced that the smartphones are entering the stage of sprinting towards the 1.3 million mark. Judging from the current chip improvement speed, if nothing unexpected happens, we will see models with performance exceeding 1.3 million points next year .

ROG6 Dimensity Extreme Edition is the first flagship gaming phone to use MediaTek chips. All configurations are very full, and the score is much higher than that of another model, Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition.
