Samsung Electronics' smartphone production exceeds 300 million units in 2021

Relevant sources revealed that in 2021, Samsung Electronics independently produced 238.88 million smartphones and produced more than 60 million units with joint development manufacturers such as Wintech and Huaqin, producing a total of more than 300 million smartphones and shipping about 200 million units.

According to TheElec, although Samsung Electronics' goal for 2021 is to ship 300 million smartphones, its smartphone production is encouraging given factors such as the resurgence of the epidemic in Vietnam, the global chip shortage, and sluggish sales of the Galaxy S21 series.

It is reported that, like the previous Galaxy S20 series, the annual shipments of the Galaxy S21 series are only about 20 million units, which is much lower than the previous sales of the S series (35 million to 40 million units).

Sources said Samsung Electronics believes that sales of the Galaxy S21 series could have increased if Vietnam had not experienced production problems due to the epidemic. In order to increase shipments, while diversifying the component supply chain, it also concentrated shipments of the Galaxy A and M series.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics aims to sell 334 million smartphones this year, of which 285 million will be produced by itself and the rest will be made by jointly developed manufacturers.
