SensorTower: Top 20 global mobile app downloads in Q1 2019

App global download ranking In the first quarter of 2019, Messenger became the second most downloaded application in the world, with nearly 209 million downloads. TikTok ranked third, and Facebook and Instagram ranked fourth and fifth respectively. The top 10 apps by downloads remained the same as in the fourth quarter of 2018, and the top five apps continued their rankings from the previous quarter. Facebook once again ranked fourth. Thanks to new users in the Indian market, video editing app Biugo and photo editing app PicsArt reached new highs in downloads in the first quarter of 2019, entering the top 20 worldwide for the first time. Download ranking of apps in AppStore In terms of download ranking within the AppStore alone, TikTok was the most downloaded app in global app stores in the first quarter of 2019, with more than 33 million downloads, followed by YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger. As the most downloaded app in the AppStore, TikTok has topped the list for five consecutive quarters. YouTube ranked second for the second consecutive quarter. In the first quarter of 2019, Twitter was downloaded 11.7 million times in the App Store, ranking 16th. This is the highest number of downloads Twitter has received since the first quarter of 2015, an increase of 3.6% year-on-year. Download ranking in Google Play Store In terms of the download ranking of apps in the Google Play Store alone, in the first quarter of 2019, the total downloads of TikTok, WhatsApp, Messenger and Facebook, owned by Facebook, exceeded 150 million. ByteDance's TikTok once again ranked third in downloads in the Google Play Store. YouTube Kids and YouTube Music both made it into the top 20. Among them, YouTube Kids had 29 million downloads in the first quarter of 2019, an increase of 291% from the previous quarter.
