comScore: iPhone's US smartphone market share increased to 43.5% in March-May 2015

The latest research data from the US market research company comScore shows that Apple further expanded its advantage in the US smartphone market between March and May this year, while further expanding the market share of the iOS platform.

According to comScore data, iPhone's share of the U.S. smartphone market reached 43.5% between March and May this year, up 1.8% from the previous month. Coincidentally, in the statistical cycle ending in April, the iPhone's market share also grew by 1.8%.

In the US smartphone market from March to May this year, Apple's competitor Samsung's market share remained relatively stable, with the company's smartphone share increasing by only 0.1% to 28.7%, ranking second. In addition to Apple and Samsung, LG, Motorola and HTC also successfully ranked among the top five, but their market shares fell by 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.3% respectively.

The comScore report shows that although Android still holds the top spot in the US smartphone operating platform, its share has declined by 0.7% from the previous month to 52.1%. On the other hand, Apple's iOS still ranks second, with its market share increasing by 1.8% over the same period, and to some extent, it has eroded the market share of Android, Microsoft, BlackBerry and Symbian.

It should be said that the latest data released by comScore reflects the development trend of the US smartphone market driven by the strong demand for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. During last year's popular shopping season, the large-screen iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus helped Apple achieve a record sales of 74.5 million units. Moreover, this hot sales trend has continued until March this year, when Apple's iPhone sales also reached a huge 61 million units.
