HandsetDetection: Data shows that the Galaxy S3 is still the most popular device

According to statistics from market research company HandsetDetection, there are more than 3,500 types of Android devices on the market. In the US market, 6 of the top 10 Android devices are Samsung devices.

Samsung has a very large market share in this list. The first place in the US Android device list is Samsung's Galaxy S3, which accounts for 9.48% of the US Android devices, nearly 10%. The second place is Motorola's Droid Razr. This shows that Motorola, as a local American company, also has a certain position in the United States. The next three to eight places are basically occupied by Samsung, which shows that Samsung's brand appeal in the Android market is currently unmatched.

In other countries, Samsung's market share is equally astonishing, and most of the devices on the list are Samsung's Android devices. Samsung is also far ahead of other devices in terms of network traffic and user activity, and there is basically no hope that other devices can catch up.

However, we noticed that most of the Android models in this statistical list were released one or two years ago, and the device models are relatively old, which shows that Samsung has done a very good job in marketing in the past, but Samsung's new devices are almost invisible in the list. The relatively new model is the Galaxy Note 2, which was released two years ago. This also reflects that Samsung's new devices such as the Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy S5 have not kept up with the pace of the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S2.

Not long ago, in the first month of its launch in South Korea, LG G3’s sales were nearly twice as high as Samsung’s latest Galaxy S5, with daily sales reaching 20,000 units. This is not good news for Samsung. If Samsung wants to maintain its position as the number one device manufacturer in the Android camp, it has to work harder.
