What are the symptoms of vaginal trichomoniasis infection

The female vagina is in a humid environment for a long time, so bacteria are more likely to breed. Trichomonas infection is also one of the more common diseases among women. It has a great impact on women. If it is not treated well, it may lead to very serious consequences. However, the symptoms of Trichomonas infection are not so well understood. So, what are the symptoms of vaginal Trichomonas infection?

After a woman's vagina is infected with Trichomonas, it usually takes 4-28 days for an incubation period, and symptoms often worsen before and after menstruation, during pregnancy, when tired, or after sexual intercourse. During the examination, inflammation and erosion of the vulva, edema of the labia, redness of the vaginal and cervical mucosa, urethritis, and occasional groin abrasions may be found. In severe cases, the vaginal wall and cervix have bleeding spots and erosion, presenting a typical "bayberry shape", and the cervix may be congested and edematous.

The main symptoms are:

1. Increased yellow-green foamy leucorrhea. The leucorrhea is thin and has a fishy smell. If it is accompanied by bacterial infection, it will become pus-like leucorrhea with a foul odor. When the vaginal mucosa bleeds, it often appears red. The amount of leucorrhea is large and often accumulates in the posterior fornix, and sometimes overflows from the vaginal opening.

2. Vulvar itching. The itching areas are mainly at the vaginal opening and vulva, and burning pain and pain during sexual intercourse are also common. Vaginal examination may reveal redness and swelling of the vaginal mucosa and cervix, bleeding "strawberry spots", and vaginal tenderness.

3. A small number of patients may experience lumbar pain and menstrual irregularities.

If Trichomonas vaginalis parasitizes in the urethra and bladder, it can cause Trichomonas urethrocystitis. Patients have symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, pain when urinating, intermittent hematuria, interrupted urine stream, urinary retention and urethral redness and swelling.

Most people do not show clinical symptoms after being infected with this parasite and are called asymptomatic carriers. Such carriers are both sources of infection and can become ill when conditions are right, so they should also be treated.

After the brief introduction above, I believe everyone already knows the symptoms of vaginal Trichomonas infection! Understanding these symptoms can help women go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time, and the harm to women will be minimized. Therefore, we must understand these symptoms and at the same time, we must actively prevent them!
