Facebook: Experiments prove that text content can also spread emotions

Facebook: Experiments prove that text content can also spread emotions

It seems that Facebook is not just a simple social network, but has now become an online scientific laboratory. Recently, the company released a report on a one-week online experiment. It is reported that Facebook conducted an experiment on the new statuses posted by 689,003 users to see whether the emotional state of the statuses users see will affect the emotions of the statuses they post themselves.

Facebook divided them into two groups, one group saw positive statuses, and the other group saw negative statuses. The results showed that the emotional color carried in the status is contagious. In other words, when the status that users see contains a higher proportion of positive emotional words, the status posted by the user will be more positive, and vice versa.

In real life, our emotions are affected by the people around us. When your friends are unhappy, you will be unhappy too. Now, Facebook has proved that this is also true for text content.
