Analysis of the results of five leucorrhea examinations

Secretion is a kind of viscous transparent liquid that flows out of the vagina of women. It is a mixture of secretions of the Bartholin's glands, cervical glands, endometrium, exudate of the vaginal mucosa, and the fallen female vaginal squamous epithelial cells. Normal leucorrhea in women is milky white with sediment, highly thick, does not adhere to the vaginal wall, is mostly deposited in the posterior fornix of the vagina, and has no fishy smell.

Routine examination of leucorrhea is a common gynecological examination. Important examination contents include female vaginal pH, vaginal cleanliness, female vaginal microorganisms, etc. Therefore, it is a physical examination related to women's health to identify whether women have abnormal leucorrhea.

Routine inspection of leucorrhea Inspection contents

1. Female vaginal pH

The normal vaginal pH value is 4-4.5, which is slightly acidic and can prevent bacteria from multiplying in the woman's vagina.

2. Vaginal cleanliness

Vaginal cleanliness can be divided into 4 levels: Level I: Many female vaginal squamous epithelial cells and many vaginal bacilli can be seen under a microscope. Grade II: Under the microscope, female vaginal squamous epithelial cells, a small white blood cell count, some vaginal lactobacilli, and a small amount of fungi or pus balls can be seen. Grade III: A small amount of vaginal lactobacilli and many pus balls and fungi are seen under the microscope. Grade IV: No vaginal bacilli are seen under the microscope, and except for a small amount of squamous epithelial cells, the main components are pus balls and fungi. I to II degrees are normal, III to IV degrees indicate abnormal secretions, indicating vaginal inflammation.

3. Female vaginal microbes

Everything is normal: None. Generally, there will be bacteria, trichomonas, mycoplasma and other items. If they are present, it will be marked as “ ” (positive) on the result, and if not, it will be marked as “-” (negative).

4. Amine test is also called amine odor test

It is a method for diagnosing symptoms of vaginitis caused by bacterial infection. In patients with gynecological inflammation caused by bacteria, the secretion may have a fishy smell, which is caused by the release of nitrogen dioxide by the amine produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa when it meets ferric chloride solution.

5. Gardnerella positive

It is the most sensitive and specific clinical manifestation of bacterial vaginitis. The diagnosis of bacterial vaginitis can be made based on a positive amine test and a positive Gardnerella test.

Routine examination of leucorrhea Check clinical symptoms

1. When the pH value of a woman's vagina is >5-6, it may be trichomonas or bacterial vaginitis.

2. When the vaginal cleanliness is grade III to IV, it may indicate vaginitis.

3. A positive result for Trichomonas or Trichomonas in vaginal microbiology examination in women may indicate vaginitis.

4. If the characteristics of the secretions are found to be abnormal, such as light yellow or light green with a foul odor, it may be Trichomonas vaginitis; if the secretions are like tofu dregs of leucorrhea, it may indicate Trichomonas vaginitis.
