Google: 500 million Android devices have been activated worldwide, with 1.3 million devices activated daily

With the release of Apple's new iPhone imminent, Google thinks it's necessary to remind everyone about Android. According to Google's official data, there are more than 500 million activated Android devices in the world. Currently, 1.3 million Android devices are activated every day. In July 2012, Google's Andy Rubi said that 900,000 Android devices were activated every day. In December 2011, this number was 700,000.

The stats may also be thanks to Samsung's Galaxy S III, which was launched in May 2012. Samsung recently said it has sold more than 20 million Galaxy S IIIs.
