Industry insiders pointed out that this sales figure is not large, but what is important is that Nokia pointed out that the sales range of Lumia mobile phones covers 54 markets around the world and is distributed by 130 operators. However, Nokia faces huge challenges in the US market, with sales in this market of only 600,000 units in the second quarter.

However, Nokia's sales figures are rising. In the second quarter, Lumia sales reached 4 million units, double the approximately 2 million units sold in the previous two quarters. If Nokia's new phones are successful on a global scale, the growth curve may be even better in the future.

In the coming weeks, Nokia is likely to promote related services to attract more users to buy its new mobile phones. Yesterday, Nokia announced the launch of Nokia Music, a free music streaming service in the US market. At a press conference held today, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop said that there are now 100,000 applications on the Windows Phone platform; four out of five cars with navigation systems use Nokia maps.

Nokia shipped 10.2 million smartphones worldwide in the last quarter, including Symbian phones, which means Nokia's share of global smartphone sales is 7%, less than half of the previous year, according to estimates by market research firm Strategy Analytics. It also means that Nokia's Symbian phones still sell more than Lumia phones.

In contrast, Samsung and Apple have dominated the smartphone market. Samsung sold 50.5 million smartphones last quarter, accounting for 35% of the global market, while Apple sold 26 million iPhones, accounting for 18%.
