Forrester: 36% of mobile users in China's metropolitan areas have more than two mobile phones

Market research firm Forrester recently released a report stating that 66% of British adult users have downloaded a mobile app in the past three months, while the same proportion for adult users across Europe is 61%.

In addition, the proportion of British users accessing social media via mobile devices has reached 22%, which is twice that of European adults (the same proportion of the latter is 11%).

31% of UK users use mobile internet at least once a month, compared to an average of 19% across Europe.

The report pointed out that in China's metropolitan areas, the proportion of mobile users who own more than two mobile phones at the same time reached 36%, the same proportion in Spain was 36%, and Hong Kong and the United States were both 34%. 46% of Chinese urban users have accessed the mobile Internet, 57% of users have listened to music through their mobile phones, 36% have played mobile games, and 33% have accessed social networking sites through their mobile phones. However, only 25% of American users have accessed mobile social networks, while the same proportion of European users is 11%.

Asia Pacific also tops the list for mobile Internet usage, with about half of the population in Japan and China using mobile Internet, surpassing the mobile network usage rates in the United States, Australia, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The region also has the highest mobile social network usage, but the United States ranks first in app downloads (about 90% of American smartphone users have downloaded an app in the past three months), with weather apps being the most popular in the United States, games and social networks being the most popular apps in Europe, and music and gaming content being the most popular apps in Asia.
