Why do rabbits' ears droop?

There are several common reasons for droopy rabbit ears:

1. Trauma. The correct way to hold a rabbit is to grab its back skin with one hand and hold its hind legs with the other hand. Do not grab the rabbit's ears, which can easily hurt the rabbit.

2. Parasites or fungal diseases. Generally, there are hair loss at the base of the ears, itchy ears, scabs, red and swollen patches, etc. You can check whether there are yellow stains on the rabbit's ears. If there are, it is ear mites.

4. Rabbit genes. If the rabbit's ears are drooping not because of trauma, nor because of the symptoms mentioned above, and the rabbits are in good spirits, and none of the rabbits in the group died, then it is probably due to the rabbits' own genetics.

If there are ear mites in the rabbit's ears, it will also cause the ears to droop, so the rabbit's ear mites should be cleaned and dewormed as soon as possible; another reason is that the rabbit lacks calcium, so the rabbit should be fed some alfalfa as a calcium supplement.

How to remove the wax from rabbit ears

Rabbit ear wax is also called earwax. When there is a lot of earwax in a rabbit, it may be caused by rabbit ear mites. When a rabbit has ear mites, you can use a special rabbit ear wash to clean its ears. At the same time, pay attention to the rabbit's diet and feed it some rabbit food with a high fiber content.

Clean the rabbit cage frequently, feed them vegetables and rabbit food, and do not feed them strong-tasting food. Then disinfect the environment. It is recommended to use pet-specific disinfectants or alcohol, and then change to a spacious environment, preferably dry and ventilated! !
