Comdev: Facebook user growth in Asia was the most significant from April 2009 to April 2011

Application developer Comdev recently found that from April 2009 to April 2011, the number of Facebook users in Asia grew most rapidly; if Facebook were a country, its total number of users in Asia would be equivalent to the fifth largest country in the Asia-Pacific region.

According to Comdev data, Indonesia is the world's second largest country for Facebook users, with a total of 35 million users, second only to the United States' 154 million.

The growth of Facebook users in major regions in Asia is as follows:

Taiwan: 4305%

Thailand: 2959%

South Korea: 2599%

Philippines: 2080%

Indonesia: 1412%

Comdev pointed out that there is still much room for growth in the number of Facebook users in the region. For example, only 35% of Internet users in India have Facebook accounts, while the proportion of Facebook users in South Korea is only 10%.
