What are the physical symptoms of normal menstruation?

Menstruation refers to the periodic shedding and bleeding of the endometrium that accompanies the cyclical changes in the ovaries. The occurrence of regular menstruation is an important sign of the maturity of reproductive function. Normal menstruation is cyclical and regular.

1. Age of menstruation

Women begin menstruating at around 13 years old and reach menopause at around 50 years old, usually once a month.

2. Menstrual cycle

The menstrual cycle and the so-called duration of menstruation are generally 3-7 days, but it is also possible that menstruation may be delayed by 1-2 days due to emotions, stress and other reasons. This is normal. If menstruation is delayed, you should seek medical attention in time.

3. Menstrual volume

The amount of menstrual blood discharged during each menstrual cycle is about 50 ml. If the amount of menstrual blood is less than 20 ml, it may indicate that the amount of menstrual blood is too little, and if it is more than 80 ml, it indicates that the amount of menstrual blood is too much, both of which are abnormal conditions.

4. Nature of menstrual blood

Normal menstrual blood is not easy to coagulate, has no special smell, and has no obvious blood clots. If the menstrual blood is viscous or watery, or has coagulated blood clots, you should pay attention to whether you have anemia, cold uterus, or uterine diseases.

5. Menstrual blood color

Normal menstrual blood is red in color. It may be lighter in color when menstruation just starts, then gradually darker. It may become lighter again when menstruation is about to end, and remain light red only until the end of menstruation.

6. Associated symptoms

During menstruation, you may experience symptoms such as lumbar pain, diarrhea, and constipation, which vary from person to person.

Therefore, it is recommended that women avoid staying up late, strenuous exercise, catching cold, etc. during menstruation. Pay more attention to keeping the abdomen warm. You can drink more brown sugar water and ginger soup to maintain a happy mood.
