What is cervical hypertrophy?

There are many different types of cervical inflammation for female friends, and cervical hypertrophy is the most common, and it usually occurs at the same time as cervical erosion. If the two diseases occur together, regular cervical cancer screening must be performed. Many pathogens can cause cervical hypertrophy. Most importantly, it can change the consistency of cervical mucus, making it impossible for sperm to pass through normally, which may cause infertility.

Although cervical hypertrophy is quite harmful, it does not cause any symptoms in the early stages, so it is easily ignored by female friends. Many patients do not even know what cervical hypertrophy is, let alone why they suffer from the disease.

Specific causes of cervical hypertrophy include:

1. Cervical gland mucus retention: Cervical gland mucus retention is one of the causes of cervical hypertrophy in women. When the cervical gland mucus retention in women develops seriously, cysts of varying sizes will form, causing the female cervix to become enlarged, resulting in cervical hypertrophy and infertility.

2. Long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation: Long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation can also cause cervical hypertrophy in women. Long-term inflammatory stimulation includes chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, which can cause congestion, swelling and edema of the cervix in women, and cause hyperplasia of cervical glands and stroma, thereby causing cervical hypertrophy and infertility in women.

3. Invasion of pathogens: The pathogens that cause cervical hypertrophy include mycoplasma, chlamydia, bacteria, etc. Once the patient is infected with mycoplasma, chlamydia and other viruses, the cervix will be seriously disturbed, causing cervical hypertrophy and infertility.

4. Intrauterine congestion: Intrauterine congestion can cause hyperplasia of uterine connective tissue, thus leading to cervical hypertrophy.

5. Ovarian dysfunction: Due to long-term stimulation of estrogen, the basal layer of the cervix becomes enlarged. The most common clinical condition is functional uterine bleeding.

6. Caused by inflammation: Chronic adnexitis and pelvic connective tissue inflammation can induce fibroplasia in the myometrium, eventually leading to cervical hypertrophy.

Now that you know what cervical hypertrophy is and the causes of it, I would like to remind all female friends that if you have a lot of vaginal discharge, it is recommended that you have a physical examination to see if you have cervical hypertrophy. Especially for women who bleed during sexual intercourse, they should pay attention to screening for cervical hypertrophy.
