"People's health is the foundation of social civilization and progress, and an important symbol of national prosperity and national strength." General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech pointed out the direction for the national health cause and highlighted the importance of popular science work on cancer prevention and treatment in the new era. 2021 is the beginning of the implementation of the "14th Five-Year Plan" in my country, and the year for the promotion of 21 key tasks of the Healthy China Action. Based on the situation of cancer prevention and control and the needs of public health, the Science Popularization Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association organized and implemented dozens of national cancer prevention and treatment popular science education activities to make the dissemination of popular science knowledge more accurate, extensive and effective, and released the "2021 Edition of Core Popular Science Knowledge of the China Anti-Cancer Association", which was published and interpreted by hundreds of media such as China Central Radio and Television and Beijing Television. The organization launched the compilation of the "Healthy China Action Cancer Prevention and Treatment Popular Science Series", and released the first "China Anti-Cancer Association PD-1 Medication Popular Science Guide for Lung Cancer Patients". On the list of science communication of the science association system released by the China Association for Science and Technology, the China Anti-Cancer Association ranked second among the 210 national associations in the country, and ranked second. The comprehensive, rigorous and practical popular science content on tumor prevention and treatment has been read by more than 1 billion people. The achievement of these results is inseparable from the strong support of the National Health Commission, the China Association for Science and Technology and the leaders of the General Association.

During World Cancer Day on February 4, the Science Popularization Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association actively participated in the national launch ceremony of World Cancer Day organized by the Association; it held a series of activities including science popularization lectures and live interviews with experts in cooperation with authoritative organizations and media such as the China Thoracic Lung Cancer Alliance and the Xinhuanet client; it organized 306 science popularization education bases of the China Anti-Cancer Association to carry out a variety of popular science activities on cancer prevention and treatment, covering more than 32 million people.

During the 27th National Cancer Prevention and Control Week from April 15 to 21, the Science Popularization Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association further strengthened its popular science publicity efforts and carried out a series of activities through the "offline launch + online live broadcast" method to achieve precise connection between experts and the public. More than 70 million members of the public and patients directly benefited, with a total of more than 9,000 media reports and a total media reading volume of 820 million people, both of which were the highest in history.

On the occasion of National Science and Technology Workers' Day on May 30 and World No Tobacco Day on May 31, the Science Popularization Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association specially invited 40 experts to participate in a series of theme activities, insisting on both tobacco control and cancer prevention; Tsinghua Tobacco Control and Lung Cancer Prevention and Control Forum was successfully held, and the Science Popularization Education Base carried out a series of live broadcast activities, with more than 80 media participating in the reporting. The comic version of lung cancer prevention and control science popularization content alone was read more than 40 million times.

During the National Science Popularization Day from September 11 to 17, the Science Popularization Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association held a variety of science popularization activities, with more than 50 experts participating. It held more than 30 science popularization live broadcasts, covering 27.3 million members of the public and patients.

During Breast Cancer Prevention and Control Month in October and Lung Cancer Awareness Month in November, the Science Popularization Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association invited a total of 70 experts to participate in a series of theme activities. The Science Popularization Base of the China Anti-Cancer Association organized nearly 100 patient education and expert free clinic activities to support the national Lung Cancer Awareness Month theme activities. More than 40 media participated in the reporting, with a total exposure of more than 51.67 million times.

Standing at the new historical intersection of 2022, the country has requirements, the people have needs, and the Science Popularization Department and Science Popularization Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association have taken action. I hope that the provincial and municipal anti-cancer associations that have not yet established science popularization committees can establish science popularization committees in their provinces and cities as soon as possible; at the same time, we will fully promote the construction of the "think tank" of science popularization experts and the core science popularization "knowledge base" of the China Anti-Cancer Association; continuously improve the "eight-in-one" science popularization system; organize the "Top Ten Advances in Cancer Fields Most Concerned by the Public in 2021" selection; hold the 2022 China Anti-Cancer Association Science Popularization Committee Science Popularization Carnival; and actively promote and assist grassroots cancer prevention and control science popularization work. Under the guidance and support of relevant state ministries and commissions and under the leadership of the China Anti-Cancer Association, the Science Popularization Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association will actively play its subjective initiative, strengthen organizational management, continue to promote the popularization of tumor prevention and control science, and write a new chapter in tumor prevention and control science popularization education with colleagues from all walks of life!
