The contraceptive principle of intrauterine device is

After giving birth, many couples find it inconvenient to use contraceptive methods during sex and want to take permanent contraceptive measures. Therefore, some women thought of the contraceptive ring. The IUD is very safe and economical. But the IUD is very complicated, and most people are not clear about the basic principles behind it. So, what is the basic principle of the IUD's contraceptive measure?

The IUD works on the part. It mainly affects the physiological state of the uterine wall, preventing the blastocyst from implanting and growing normally in the uterus, so as to achieve the actual effect of contraception. The actual basic principles are as follows:

First, the IUD can cause infection in some tissues, but this type of infection is not an inflammatory infection. After the infection, a large number of white blood cells will secrete, the fluid in the uterus will change, and the protein and non-protein nitrogen and other components will increase, making it difficult for the fertilized egg to implant.

Second, the contraceptive ring containing drugs will cause the uterine wall to change and gradually shrink, resulting in the inability of the fertilized egg embryo to implant normally. In addition, the mucus in the human cervix will become thicker, making it difficult for male sperm to function.

Third, the copper IUD contains iodine ions which have the effect of inhibiting sperm growth. Finally, the IUD will damage the uterine wall, release prostacyclin, cause uterine contraction, reduce the probability of embryo implantation, and reduce the probability of pregnancy.

What should you pay attention to before and after placing the contraceptive ring?

1. Women with acute pelvic inflammatory disease, acute vaginitis, moderate to severe cervical erosion, menorrhagia or non-menstrual bleeding, uterine fibroids, and a narrow cervix; women with more serious systemic diseases are not suitable for IUD placement, otherwise it will cause aggravated inflammation and increased menstrual flow.

2. Although the operation of IUD placement is simple and safe, it is ultimately a surgical operation. In order to prevent infection, couples should refrain from sexual intercourse 3 days before the operation and 2 weeks after the operation. Pay attention to vaginal hygiene and do not take a sitz bath after the IUD placement to avoid intrauterine infection. You should rest for 1 to 2 days after the operation. You don't need to do heavy physical work or high-intensity exercise within a week. Since the cervix will be too loose right after the ring is inserted, the ring may fall off easily.

3. Cervical laceration does not affect the IUD at the bottom of the uterus and has nothing to do with this, but you need to pay attention to follow-up visits to avoid the possibility of the IUD falling off.

4. For women with loose cervix and heavy menstrual flow, the contraceptive ring may fall off during menstruation, so when urinating during menstruation, you should pay attention to whether the ring falls out with the blood. Generally, in the first month after the IUD is placed, you should go to the hospital for a physical examination after your menstrual period ends, and then have another follow-up visit three months later. After that, you can have a follow-up visit every 1 to 2 years. Within 3 months after the ring is inserted, especially during the menstrual period, you should pay more attention to whether the ring has fallen off. If you find that it has fallen off, you should immediately adopt other contraceptive methods and go to the hospital to reinsert the ring after the next menstrual period.
