Where is the hymen located?

The hymen is broken, also known as the urethral valve or vaginal valve. There is a rampant mucosal fold on the bottom inner wall where the urogenital vestibule meets the vagina, which is called the hymen is broken. There are still disputes in anthropology about the validity of the broken hymen.

The physiological structure of a broken hymen

The hymen is a relic of the juvenile state, and in terms of body function, it is the physiological tissue of the immature female insect. The effect of breaking the hymen is to prevent harmful microorganisms and sperm with weak motility from entering. Vaginal valve and urethral valve are academic terms for the rupture of the hymen, but the former is mostly used for other animals, while the latter is mostly used for humans.

The hymen does not grow inside the vagina when it is broken. It is a layer of thin film with holes in the center covering the inner and outer openings of the vagina. It is located at the vulva, that is, the intersection of the vagina and the vestibule. The vagina is located in the depression below and behind the labia majora (the depth of the depression is about 2 to 3 cm).

It is a thin mucous membrane located at the junction of the vagina and outside, with a hole in the middle that allows menstruation to discharge from the vagina. When they are born, the hymen of most girls is broken in a ring shape, that is, its tissue is evenly distributed in all parts of the vulva. When the baby girl grows to about 3 years old, the crescent-shaped rupture of the hymen becomes more and more common-the hymen on the side of the vulva facing the clitoris has less ruptured tissue, while the hymen on the side away from the clitoris has more ruptured tissue.

As female insects mature, the shapes of adult hymens begin to become more and more different, and some individuals are even born without hymens. Of course, the reason why some animals have no hymens is that the hymens disappear during the embryonic period, but such animals usually come into estrus early. Among these many types, the most extreme is hymen occlusion, followed by hymen rupture with a small opening. If not treated promptly, it can block menstrual discharge, cause blood to accumulate in the vagina, and lead to abdominal pain. The most common treatment is a hymenotomy, in which a "T-shaped," "X-shaped," or "cross-shaped" incision is made to open the hymen and remove unnecessary tissue.
