Why do penguins have no teeth?

Penguins are birds that look for food by pecking with their conical beaks, quickly swallowing whole grains or pieces of food, and then storing the food in their well-developed crop. After the food is softened in the crop, it is gradually ground by the gizzard and then gradually digested or absorbed by the rest of the digestive system. This method does not use teeth and related systems. Therefore, penguins do not have teeth.

Penguins have barbs on their tongues and upper jaws to adapt to swallowing food such as fish and shrimp, but these are not teeth.

Penguins, also known as "the boats of the sea", are one of the oldest swimming birds, belonging to the order Spheniscus and the family Spheniscidae. Penguins are characterized by being unable to fly; having feet at the bottom of the body, so they stand upright; having webbed feet between toes and fin-shaped forelimbs; having short feathers to reduce friction and turbulence; and having a layer of air between feathers for insulation. The back is black, while the belly is white. The main difference between the species is the head color and individual size.

Why is it the father who hatches the penguin eggs?

After laying eggs, the female penguin consumes a lot of physical energy. The female penguin goes to find food to replenish energy, and the male penguin comes to incubate the baby penguins. After laying eggs, the female penguin gives the eggs to the male penguin. Two days later, the female penguin leaves home and goes to the sea to find food. The female penguin has not eaten for a month during pregnancy, and her mental and physical energy is seriously exhausted. During the incubation period, the male penguin avoids the cold. The male penguins stand side by side with their backs to the wind. When incubating eggs, the male penguin puts his feet together, uses his tail as a support, shares the body weight borne by his feet, puts the eggs on the back of his feet with his mouth, slightly moves his body and feet, and extends a wrinkled belly from the lower end of his abdomen to cover the eggs like a safety bag. The male penguin bends his neck and lowers his head to protect his cubs. He stands for more than 60 days until the chicks hatch.

Penguins can live and reproduce in severe temperatures of minus 60 degrees Celsius. They move slowly on land, but can swim at speeds of 25 to 30 kilometers per hour in water, covering 160 kilometers a day. They feed on krill, squid, and small fish.

How many wings does a penguin have?

Penguins have two wings. Known as the "ship of the sea", penguins are the oldest swimming birds in the world. There are 18 species of penguins in the world, most of which are distributed in the southern hemisphere. They mainly live in the southern hemisphere and belong to the order sphenisciformes and family sphenisciformes. They are characterized by being unable to fly; their feet are located at the bottom of the body, so they stand upright; they have webbed feet; they walk on their toes (other birds walk on their toes); their forelimbs are fin-shaped; their feathers are short to reduce friction and turbulence; and a layer of air is retained between the feathers to keep them warm.
