What medicine should I take if my low blood pressure is high? Find the cause first, don't rush to take medicine

Recently, several friends have been asking Huazi, what should I do if the low pressure in blood pressure is high? Their high pressure is normal, but the low pressure is always more than 90mmHg, and it can't be lowered. Huazi said that this situation is very common, especially for middle-aged and young hypertensive patients, who usually show the characteristics of normal high pressure, increased low pressure, and reduced pulse pressure (that is, the difference between high pressure and low pressure).

This situation shows that the elasticity of the large arteries of young and middle-aged people is normal, but the resistance of the peripheral arterioles is increased. Huazi told his friend not to worry and try to find the cause first. If the cause of the increased peripheral arterial resistance can be eliminated, there is no need to take antihypertensive drugs.

1. The aorta is more sensitive to drugs. The human body's blood pressure is divided into high pressure and low pressure. High pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood on the aorta wall when the heart contracts and pumps blood. At this time, the aorta expands to accommodate the blood. Low pressure is when the heart relaxes and the aorta retracts by its own elasticity. At this time, the pressure exerted by the arterial wall on the blood pushes the blood to the peripheral arterioles.

People with high blood pressure all have this feeling: after taking antihypertensive drugs, the high blood pressure drops quickly, but the low blood pressure is difficult to lower. This is because the large arteries of the human body are more sensitive to antihypertensive drugs and are more likely to expand. However, the small arteries are not very sensitive to drugs, so the low blood pressure is more difficult to lower.

2. If you want to lower your blood pressure, you must first find the cause. 1. Obesity: Obese people have too much fat on their bodies, which will increase the burden of blood supply. Fat will also compress peripheral blood vessels, increase the resistance of peripheral arterioles, and lead to increased low blood pressure. For obese people, losing weight will have a good blood pressure-lowering effect, especially for low blood pressure.

2. Negative emotions: Anxiety, tension, and fear can cause overexcitement of the sympathetic nerves, increase the release of catecholamines such as adrenaline and norepinephrine in the human body, stimulate the heart rate to increase, artery contraction, and lead to increased blood pressure. However, there are many reasons for negative emotions, such as pressure from life, work, and emotions; staying up too late, irregular work and rest, lack of sleep, etc. can all cause negative emotions, so you need to analyze the reasons yourself and find ways to relieve your mood.

3. How to choose antihypertensive drugs Most people's elevated low blood pressure is due to obesity and negative emotions. As long as the cause can be removed, blood pressure can be lowered. However, some people are too fat and have difficulty losing weight; or the cause of negative emotions is difficult to solve quickly; there are also some people who have no obvious inducement and are likely to have primary hypertension. For these people, antihypertensive drugs are needed to help control blood pressure.

Resting heart rate is an important reference for drug selection. If the resting heart rate is greater than 80, it means that the sympathetic nerves are highly excited. Lol drugs that have an inhibitory effect on the sympathetic nerves, such as metoprolol and bisoprolol, can be used to slow down the heart rate and lower blood pressure. If you have anxiety, consider using alprazolam, lorazepam and other drugs for anti-anxiety treatment.

If the resting heart rate is less than 80, you can choose "pril" or "sartan" drugs for treatment. Both drugs act on the "renin-angiotensin-aldosterone" system and play a blood pressure-lowering role by blocking angiotensin 2. The mechanisms of the two drugs are similar and cannot be used together. Just choose one of them. Huazi recommends that young and middle-aged people choose "sartan", such as telmisartan, irbesartan, etc., which have fewer side effects and better tolerance.

After using "Lol," "Pril" or "Satan," if blood pressure is still not well controlled within 1 month, you can consider adding dihydropyridine antihypertensive drugs, such as nifedipine controlled-release tablets, amlodipine, etc., for combined treatment to control blood pressure.

To sum up, the increase in low blood pressure is more difficult to control than high blood pressure. Find out the cause first. As long as the cause can be eliminated, the blood pressure will be lowered, and there is no need to rush to take medicine. However, for blood pressure that cannot be controlled in a short period of time, drugs are needed to help treat it. The medication mentioned in the article is just an example. Specific drugs must be used under the guidance of a doctor. If you have any questions about medication, please consult a doctor or pharmacist in time.
