How to get into good shape on the first day of work after the long Spring Festival holiday?

Although the Spring Festival holiday has ended, many people are still immersed in the joy of the holiday. As a result, on the first day of work after the holiday, the relaxed "heartstrings" cannot temporarily adapt to the working state, and a series of discomfort phenomena appear, such as feeling more tired after work than before the holiday; unable to sleep at night and unable to get up in the morning; having difficulty concentrating at work, etc. In this regard, Ai Xia, deputy director of the Beijing Huilongguan Hospital and a psychotherapist, reminds everyone to give the body a buffer period and slowly adjust the mind to a normal working state.

Ai Xia pointed out that office workers are susceptible to post-holiday syndrome. Almost every week or two after a long holiday, many office workers will experience a series of psychological and physiological problems. When people suddenly switch from a relaxed state to a tense state, they will become listless and irritable emotionally, and even feel nauseous and dizzy physically.

Five suggestions for improving symptoms

1. Accept the post-holiday syndrome calmly. These symptoms are natural when people return to work, so don't carry unnecessary psychological burden.

Second, don’t change the rhythm too quickly. Post-holiday syndrome is largely caused by the rapid switch between body and mind. Office workers will choose to relax by sleeping in, shopping, traveling, partying, etc. This change in the rhythm of life requires a process and should not be too fast or too urgent.

3. Arrange your work step by step. Most people will feel a sudden increase in pressure when they suddenly switch from a leisurely vacation to a large amount of work. In this case, don't fill your schedule too full at once, and don't immediately jump into heavy, challenging projects after the holiday. You can start with simple tasks and slowly transition to a normal work rhythm.

4. Take the initiative to adjust the working atmosphere. Compared with the warm and beautiful atmosphere at home, the office is inevitably a bit depressing. You may want to bring some snacks and local specialties from your hometown, exchange snacks with colleagues, have a relaxed conversation, and start working happily. After get off work, you can choose to do something relaxing, such as reading, watching movies, etc., to relax and relieve physical and mental stress.

5. Diversify your diet after the festival. You can reduce your meat intake and eat more cereals and green vegetables.

Tips for adjusting your work and rest schedule

During the long Spring Festival holiday, most people's emotions and emotional experiences should be very excited. They are about to return to normal work state, and many opposite emotional experiences will appear in their minds. These emotional changes can also cause insomnia and other problems.

Experts suggest that if you are not sleepy at night, you don't have to go to bed too early. If you force yourself to go to bed, you will put some pressure on yourself and you will not be able to fall asleep. You can get up and do something relaxing, such as reading, walking, deep breathing, meditation, etc. In the morning, you can use cold water to wash yourself and wake up quickly.

After get off work, you can participate in more sports activities to make your body tired and easy to fall asleep. You can also take a walk or other light exercise two or three hours before going to bed, listen to light music, drink a cup of hot milk, or have a massage to relieve tension.
