Will chronic pharyngitis in pregnant women affect the fetus?

Will chronic pharyngitis in pregnant women affect the fetus?

The most troublesome thing for women during pregnancy is getting sick. Pregnancy is a special period and many diseases cannot be treated with medication, otherwise it will affect the health of the fetus. However, if a pregnant woman has chronic pharyngitis, she must drink plenty of water and eat more fresh vegetables and fruits. Under normal circumstances, pharyngitis in pregnant women will not affect the fetus, but if it is not treated in time, it will affect the baby in the woman's belly.

What to do if pregnant women have chronic pharyngitis and cough

It is said that "all medicines are poisonous". If a pregnant woman feels that the illness is very serious, she should not take medicine without authorization. The correct way is to go to the hospital and be diagnosed and treated by a doctor. Because during pregnancy, especially in the first three months, the impact of drugs on the fetus cannot be ignored, but not all drugs are teratogenic, and specific situations should be analyzed specifically.

Medicine divides drugs into four categories based on their toxic effects on the fetus:

1. Vitamin B group, vitamin C, folic acid, vitamin E, penicillins, cefotaxime, erythromycin, etc. have no harm or toxic side effects.

2. Remifentanil, rifampicin, gentamicin, propafenone, and aspirin have certain teratogenic effects.

3. Tetracycline, streptomycin, kanamycin, etc. have clear teratogenic effects.

4. Anti-tumor drugs, sex hormone drugs or contraceptives have clear teratogenic effects.

The adverse effects of drugs on the fetus mainly depend on factors such as the method of use, the toxicity of the drugs, the dosage used, and the length of time of use. Therefore, pregnant women should try to avoid using drugs to prevent or treat diseases during the entire pregnancy unless there are special circumstances.

If a pregnant woman accidentally catches a cold or cough, the first thing to do is not to be too nervous or anxious, because in fact it is not a serious illness and it can be cured with timely conditioning. If pregnant women are too nervous, their condition may be aggravated.

Diet therapy for cough in pregnant women

1. Honey water

Honey has a good cough-relieving and lubricating effect, and many older people know this method. Brew honey water and drink it every morning and evening. The best effect is to take it directly orally, let it stay in the throat for a while and swallow slowly. When choosing honey, it is recommended to buy fresh pure honey, and it is best to buy it from a bee farm you are familiar with.

2. Stewed pears with rock sugar and honey

Peel the fresh pears, split them in half and remove the cores. Add appropriate amount of rock sugar and steam them in a pot until soft. When it is not so hot anymore, add appropriate amount of honey and eat it directly.

3. Baking oranges

Use chopsticks to make a hole in the center of the bottom of the orange, stuff some salt in it, wrap it with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Take it out, peel the orange peel and eat it while it's hot. Or you can dry the orange peel into dried tangerine peel, add water to make tea, and drink it in big gulps. It has amazing effects.

4. Stewed pear with Sichuan Fritillary Bulbs

Use peeled and cored fresh pears, add 2 grams of Fritillaria cirrhosa powder, steam in a pot until soft, and eat while hot.

5. White radish candy

Cut the white radish into 1 cm dices, put them into a dry, clean container, fill it with honey, cover it tightly, and soak it for about 3 days. The water will seep out and mix with the honey. Store it in the refrigerator. Scoop out a little each time and add warm water to drink. It has a very good cough-relieving effect. If you want to drink it suddenly and don't have time to soak it, you can grind the white radish, add 1/3 amount of honey, mix well, and then add warm water to drink.
