The emergence of liquid sanitary napkins in recent years has allowed many people to experience an extraordinary feeling, and some people call it "Hermes among sanitary napkins." People have both good and bad reviews about it. What kind of high-tech is it? What is the principle of liquid sanitary napkins? At first, I thought this sanitary napkin was liquid based on the name, but after getting the sample, there was a line of small print on the package that explained it like this: it means that the absorbent material comes from liquid. According to the official website, this new liquid material is liquefied from pure water and nano-molecular polymers through emulsification technology, and is similar to the porous form of memory foam. We looked around the packaging but didn't find any implementation standards for the product, only the hygiene standard GB 15979 "Hygiene Standard for Disposable Sanitary Products". The current standard GB/T 8939-2018 "Sanitary Napkins (Pads)" applies to sanitary napkins consisting of a surface layer, an inner absorbent layer (containing fluff pulp and/or superabsorbent resin), an impermeable bottom film, etc. The inner absorbent layer of liquid sanitary napkins does not contain fluff pulp and superabsorbent resin, and the standards are not applicable, so the current standards cannot be used as a reference. How did the liquid sanitary napkins perform in the evaluation? We tested various indicators of liquid sanitary napkins in the evaluation of 26 sanitary napkins. Among the various indicators, the safety testing and absorption performance of liquid sanitary napkins were acceptable. However, there is a clear difference in the absorption speed. The principle of the laboratory's absorption speed test is as follows: record the time it takes for the sample to completely absorb 5 ml of standard synthetic fluid (simulating menstruation). This actually simulates the normal use of sanitary napkins. According to the evaluation results, the two liquid sanitary napkins for day and night use have the slowest absorption speed compared to other ordinary sanitary napkins. We asked volunteers to conduct actual sensory experience, and the feedback was as follows: What are the characteristics of liquid sanitary napkins? Let's summarize the characteristics of liquid sanitary napkins: Thinness Compared with ordinary sanitary napkins, it is indeed much thinner and not so noticeable when in use. In terms of overall absorption capacity, it is not very advantageous compared with ordinary sanitary napkins and is not very friendly to girls with large amounts of fluids. Different moisture absorption structure The inner core is divided into two layers, which can evenly disperse the infiltrated blood throughout the bottom layer after absorbing moisture and sink to the bottom layer. In addition, the inner core is formed of a polymer absorbent material, which is more elastic and less likely to deform than ordinary sanitary napkins when absorbing moisture. Dry and breathable In addition to the fact that the surface material is breathable and not stuffy, the overall dryness and breathability vary from person to person, but some people also said that "this aspect is not very obvious." We see that everyone’s sharing in the comment section is polarized. All we can say is, just pick what suits you best. As for how to choose, it is recommended that you treat it as an evolved version of ordinary sanitary napkins and treat it normally. Sanitary napkins with fluff pulp cannot be used? I don’t know when the fluff pulp in sanitary napkins became unpopular. There are many rumors, such as "I heard it is made of old cotton and old newspapers!" "I heard it can cause disease and cancer when bleached!" "I heard diapers and sanitary napkins containing it are unsafe!" Who told me this? My friends... In fact, the truth about fluff pulp is this: It is normal and in compliance with standards to use fluff pulp in sanitary napkins. Through the evaluation of sanitary napkins, we sorted out the main raw materials list on the packaging and found that: Except for liquid sanitary napkins, fluff pulp is basically used in the ingredients of other sanitary napkins. Fluff pulp is commonly known as wood pulp, which is a good liquid absorbing material. The raw materials currently used by domestic fluff pulp production companies are white pine, red pine, etc. in the north, and Masson pine, Yunnan pine, fir, bamboo, etc. in the south. (The raw materials for dust-free paper and absorbent paper are also wood pulp fibers, which are from the same source as fluff pulp) Since fluff pulp involves people's physical health, the sanitary environment of the production site needs to meet the standards of the national epidemic prevention department before production can be carried out. The cost of good fluff pulp is still very high. In the standard GB/T 8939-2018 "Sanitary Napkins (Pads)", fluff pulp is regarded as an important component of the inner absorbent layer, and corresponding requirements are made for the quality of fluff pulp: Therefore, there is no need to be afraid of fluff pulp. The fluff pulp used in sanitary napkins meets the standard requirements. Is it necessary to use fluff pulp? For sanitary napkins, the core structure of fluff pulp and high molecular absorbent resin (SAP) is still the most effective combination in the industry technology. If the inner absorbent layer of the sanitary napkin does not contain fluff pulp, it will have a greater impact on the overall water absorption performance. Fluff pulp is also used in diapers. Quality supervision departments in various places will conduct quality inspections on factory raw materials on a regular basis, so generally speaking, the quality of products from regular brands is guaranteed. Regarding the quality and safety of sanitary napkins, the national and local governments conduct very strict random inspections every year, and there is zero tolerance in supervision. Any problems found will be reported and handled in a timely manner. I hope everyone will treat fluff pulp correctly, be careful about "three-no" products, and not be misled by various marketing gimmicks. Warm Tips Dad's Review reminds everyone that choosing the right sanitary napkin is also very important as to how to use it: 1. Don’t stockpile sanitary napkins There are many promotions nowadays, and everyone is in a trend of "stocking up for a year at a time", but in fact, too long a storage time will affect the hygienic performance of the product. Promotions are no longer rare, so it is better not to stock up for too long. In addition, try to choose a dry and clean place to store it. After unpacking, the sanitary napkin should be sealed and stored, and it should not be used after it gets wet. 2. Pay attention to the shelf life Pay special attention to promotional products and gifts; the fresher the production date, the better. 3. Don’t pursue sanitary napkins with high absorption capacity Many women like to choose sanitary napkins with high absorption capacity, which are very convenient because they don’t need to be changed for several hours when they are busy. However, this can easily breed bacteria. Under normal circumstances, it is recommended that you change it every 2 hours during the day, and the longest time should not exceed 4 hours. 4. Pay attention to medicines, fragrances, and sanitary napkins with effects It is recommended to use this type of sanitary napkin with caution, especially for people with allergies, as they are prone to allergies, itching and disruption of the normal vaginal environment. 5. Wash your hands before use Sanitary napkins will come into direct contact with women's skin, and the resistance is lower during menstruation, so everyone needs to pay more attention to hygiene. |
