Where are automobile bearings installed?

Automobile bearings are a general term for bearings used in automobiles. There are many types of bearings, including automobile engine bearings, running system bearings, auxiliary electrical system bearings, inner and outer bearings of wheel hubs, bridge bearings of transmission shafts, tensioner bearings of belts, input end bearings of one shaft of the gearbox, output end bearings of the second shaft, needle bearings of the gearbox, plane bearings of the steering knuckle, input end bearings of the differential, and many other categories.

The gearbox and differential are assembled by a large number of gears and bearings, and the inner and outer bearings of the wheel hub are the most frequently replaced. They must be inspected and oiled during maintenance.

The front wheel bearing of the car is broken. Should I replace it with one or a pair?

To put it simply, if the mileage is not long, the driving environment is good, one side has had an accident that caused the wheel hub bearing to be damaged, or one side has abnormal noises, then it is basically not a big problem to replace it. On the contrary, if the vehicle is old, for example, the mileage exceeds 100,000 kilometers or even more, or the driving road is bumpy, then it is best to replace a pair.

The friction coefficients of the new and old bearings are different, which will cause the front wheel speed to be inconsistent and the vehicle to deviate easily, so replace a pair of new ones. If one of the same quality things is broken, the other one will not be much better. Replace the two bearings of the same wheel together so that the two bearings wear evenly and will not affect the positioning and rotation. Most of the bearings of today's cars are maintenance-free and closed, and the assembly needs to be replaced.

How to install automobile wheel hub bearings

There are two ways to install automotive wheel hub bearings, one is hot bearing installation and the other is cold bearing installation. Hot bearing installation often uses induction heating, and automotive wheel hub bearing induction heaters have many functions that help prevent damage to the bearing during the heating process. Generally, small and medium-sized bearings are mostly cold installed. Traditionally, bearings are installed with hammers and old pipes. This practice causes external forces to pass through the rolling elements, which can damage the raceways. Bearing installation tools apply external forces to the bearing rings that use a press fit, which helps prevent bearing damage.
