What do baby rabbits eat? What do baby rabbits bought on the roadside eat to survive easily?

Many people like to raise rabbits from small sizes. It is generally recommended to start raising them after weaning so that they are easier to keep alive. So if a mother rabbit at home gives birth to baby rabbits, how should you feed them so that they can survive easily?

What do baby rabbits eat?

First, newborn rabbits drink milk. If there is no mother rabbit to feed them, you can feed them goat milk powder.

Second, before the rabbit is 6 months old, you can feed it mainly with alfalfa and young rabbit food, supplemented with timothy grass. When feeding alfalfa, pay attention to the rabbit's urine. If there is calcium in the urine, it means that the rabbit is fed too much alfalfa and needs to reduce the amount of feeding.

Third, rabbits over 6 months old can be fed with rabbit food or woolly rabbit food and timothy grass, along with some vegetables and fruits with less water. Note that the moisture on the surface of the vegetables and fruits must be wiped dry before feeding them to the rabbits.

It is recommended that baby rabbits be breastfed because they are too young to accept food from the outside world and may die from diarrhea.

If it is a weaned rabbit (about three months old), it is recommended to prepare rabbit food specifically for the little rabbit. Because rabbit food is easy to digest, the nutrition is more suitable for the little rabbit, and it is conducive to the healthy growth of the little rabbit. You can feed some air-dried vegetables appropriately, but it is not recommended to feed vegetables with sufficient water, which can easily cause diarrhea.

Things to note when raising rabbits

First, rabbits are easily stimulated by external temperature, so it is important to provide a relatively constant temperature, such as around 25 degrees Celsius.

Second, rabbits are timid by nature, so try to avoid scaring them or being touched by unfamiliar people.

Third, deworm in time to avoid coccidia infection.

Fourth, colds, diarrhea and other diseases should be treated promptly to avoid minor illnesses from turning into major ones.
