What to do if the gas does not pass after caesarean section

Many women will choose cesarean section when giving birth. There are many benefits of cesarean section, especially women who are afraid of pain can choose cesarean section. After cesarean section, women will not feel so smooth, the wound will be painful, and they cannot eat normally without exhausting gas. So what should I do if I can't exhaust gas after cesarean section?

What to do if there is no gas after cesarean section

1. Get out of bed and move around as soon as possible. New mothers should get out of bed and move around as soon as possible, which will help with postpartum gas discharge. 24 hours after a cesarean section, a new mother can stand for a while or take a few light steps with the help of her family or nurse, and do this 3 to 4 times a day. This can help restore intestinal motility as soon as possible. However, some new mothers may experience low blood pressure symptoms such as "black spots in front of the eyes" and "dizziness" when they get out of bed for the first time. You can wait for a while before getting out of bed. If you really cannot stand and exercise, you can move around in bed appropriately, such as turning over more often. This is not only conducive to exhaust, but also can prevent adhesion of internal organs.

2. After a caesarean section, if you do not pass gas, you can eat a small amount of liquid food without sugar or milk. You can also take a small amount of soup that helps to expel gas, such as rice soup and carrot soup, but the food you eat at this time should be mainly light and easily digestible liquid food, and try not to contain fat, protein and other foods that are difficult to digest and produce gas, such as milk and sugar water. Be careful to eat small meals frequently to avoid increasing the burden on the gastrointestinal tract.

3. Gently massage your abdomen. The new mother's family should gently massage her abdomen from top to bottom, once every 2 to 3 hours, each time for 10 to 20 minutes. It not only promotes intestinal peristalsis, but also helps to discharge residual blood from the uterus and vagina.

4. Use relevant drugs. Under the guidance of a doctor, abdominal bloating can be improved by taking oral drugs that promote intestinal motility, and suppositories or enemas can be used if necessary. However, because this is quite tiring for new mothers after childbirth and may affect the internal environment of the body, it is not recommended for new mothers to use it unless necessary.
