How long does it usually take to install a radiator? What are the requirements for installing a radiator?

We all know that radiators can keep warm very well and are a very popular home improvement device. Many people install radiators in their homes, especially in winter. There are certain requirements for surface-mounted radiators, especially the installation time. Some are faster and some are slower. So how long does it usually take to install a surface-mounted radiator? Let's take a closer look!

How long does it usually take to install a radiator?

The installation of an exposed heating system is relatively convenient and quick. Depending on the size of the house and the heating design and installation plan, the installation and debugging of the heating system can generally be completed within 1 to 3 days.

The installation period of exposed heating is generally about 1 to 3 days, and it can be completed and put into use in one day at the fastest. The radiator equipment and pipeline direction of the exposed heating terminal will more or less have a certain impact on the overall decoration style. However, as long as the installation plan is properly designed, the heating system can be well integrated into our interior decoration style without affecting the visual effect.

Heating installation construction process

① Finished product protection before construction: Protect the walls, floors, ceilings and other furniture in the installation area to avoid contamination or damage to the original finished decorative surfaces or furniture in the room during the installation process;

② Laying out and positioning. The laying out and positioning is determined by comprehensively considering the aesthetics and heating effect of the entire exposed installation in the early stage. The laying out and positioning includes the installation point positioning of the wall-mounted boiler, the installation and drilling positioning of the pipeline direction, and the installation and drilling of the radiator.

③Drilling holes, including through-wall pipe holes, expansion bolt holes, etc., be sure to do a good job of indoor protection during the drilling process. When drilling through-wall pipe holes, it is recommended to instruct the installation master to use dry drilling method to drill holes (except shear walls) to better protect the wall finish;

④Install the cable trough, pipelines, radiators and boilers according to the pipe running direction and terminal radiators of the original plan. Pipes are generally installed along the corners of the wall, skirtings, behind curtains, etc. to achieve a better effect. Radiators are generally 30~50mm from the ground, and the installation height is unified throughout the house;

⑤ Pressure test: After the installation of the pipeline and the terminal heat dissipation radiator, the entire closed heating circulation system is pressure tested to check again for leakage;

⑥ Debugging: After the above installation process is completed, the equipment operation debugging is carried out to check whether the entire heating system is operating normally.

⑦ Detailed finishing and site cleaning. After installation and commissioning, check the detailed finishing of the decorative surface of the installation part to ensure it is in place, beautiful and tidy, and restore the original decorative surface as much as possible.

Radiator installation precautions

①The radiator should be installed in a suitable position

The installation of exposed radiators should be based on the principle of being low rather than high and the principle of giving priority to being under windows. Heat is dissipated from bottom to top, resulting in less loss. Radiators are generally installed in areas with low utilization rates, usually in hidden locations such as under windows or behind doors. They are not often exposed to normal activities and are safer. For example, installing them under the windowsill is conducive to indoor air convection and can heat the cold air coming in through the windows.

② Furniture should not be placed too close to the radiator.

Placing sofas and furniture too close to radiators, or even covering the radiators for aesthetics, is not conducive to the heating effect. It is necessary to leave a certain amount of heat dissipation space for the radiator so that the radiator can dissipate the heat and the indoor temperature can reach a rapid heating effect.

③The design of heating pipeline should be reasonable

When designing pipelines, try to shorten their length to reduce water flow resistance.

④ Radiators of different materials cannot be mixed

Mixing the installation of radiators made of different materials such as copper, steel, and aluminum can easily cause unnecessary water leakage, affect system stability and other hidden dangers. Mixing radiators of different materials will relatively affect the service life of the radiators in the later stage.

⑤ When installing the radiator, reinforcement is required in some cases

The radiator still has a certain weight, and some houses or partial installation partitions are built with hollow bricks or aerated foam bricks. For such houses and installation locations, the radiator may not be able to hang, and the radiator needs to be reinforced, such as adding bracket bottom support and other measures. Do not affect the later use in order to save a little cost.
