Why do I always cry? What is the disease of crying in the wind?

We shed tears when we are happy or sad, and we also shed tears when our eyes are stimulated. The former is caused by emotions, while the latter is a protective mechanism of the eyes. But it is not good to shed tears all the time, as it can easily cause inflammation of the eyes.

Why do I keep crying?

(1) Abnormal lacrimal puncta.

If the lacrimal puncta are everted, narrow, occluded or absent, tears cannot flow into the tear ducts, which will cause epiphora.

(2) Abnormal tear duct.

Abnormal tear duct development, trauma, foreign objects in the eyes, or chronic dacryocystitis, nasal diseases, tear duct stenosis and other diseases can cause the tear duct to be narrowed or blocked, and tears cannot be discharged through the nasolacrimal cavity, resulting in tears and even overflow of thick secretions.

(3) Eye diseases.

Eye diseases such as trachoma, keratitis, refractive error, entropion and trichiasis can also cause frequent tears. These diseases can cause conjunctival congestion and even damage the cornea, which increases the sensitivity of the eyes to external stimuli, makes tearing more obvious, and is accompanied by symptoms such as photophobia and eye pain.

(4) Cold stimulation.

When the weather is cold, it is easy to have tears in the face of wind when going out. This is because the eyes are stimulated by the cold wind, which reflexively causes the main tear glands to secrete more. At the same time, the skin and muscles around the face and eye sockets are stimulated by the cold wind and contract, squeezing the tear ducts. The tears are blocked when they are discharged from the nasal cavity and are forced to flow out from the corners of the eyes, resulting in tears. This is more likely to happen if you suffer from chronic conjunctivitis.

What is the disease of tears in the wind

1. Suffering from eye diseases

Conditions such as trachoma, chronic conjunctivitis, and lacrimal gland inflammation can easily lead to abnormal narrowing and blockage of the lacrimal duct.

2. Eyelid abnormalities

The eyelids of middle-aged and elderly people or those after a serious illness are relatively loose, which may lead to insufficient effect of the eyelid tear pump, so they are prone to tears.

3. Eye irritation

Many ambiguous women like to wear colored contact lenses, but if they are worn incorrectly, it is easy to cause greater damage to the cornea, and tears will flow when the eyeball comes into contact with the air.

4. Eye fatigue

If the eyes are too tired, it can easily cause the eye's adjustment mechanism to lose balance and tearing may occur.

How to relieve tears in eyes

TCM auxiliary method: massage Chengqi acupoint

The Chengqi point is located on the face, directly below the pupil, between the eyeball and the lower edge of the eye socket.

Massage this point 3 times a day, 10 minutes each time, and combine it with moxibustion.

Use moxa sticks to fumigate this acupoint for more than 5 minutes per acupoint, once a day. After about 2 weeks, the uncomfortable symptoms of tears in the wind will be significantly improved.
