Is it normal to have abdominal pain after abortion?

With the development of medical technology today, abortion has become a very sophisticated technology, but it still cannot prevent some women from experiencing some discomfort symptoms after abortion, and stomach pain is the most common one. Generally speaking, abdominal pain is a normal reaction after abortion for women. If the pain lasts for more than seven days, it means that the patient may have incomplete miscarriage, intrauterine blood accumulation, etc.

After a woman has an abortion, the body still needs a period of recovery, and women who have undergone surgical treatment for miscarriage will need even longer. During this period of time, some women will experience abdominal pain, which is actually a normal body reaction. Generally speaking, this type of pain is relatively mild and most women can bear it. For normal women, the pain will subside within three days, but for women with severe trauma, the pain will not exceed a week.

If a woman still has abdominal pain for more than a week, she should pay attention to it, because it means that there is a problem with the body of the woman who had miscarriage, which generally includes three situations.

1. The miscarriage is incomplete. Although the abortion method is perfect, there are still unsuccessful cases. In this case, the uterus of the body will continue to contract in order to expel the remaining embryo, which will cause abdominal pain in women who have miscarriage. Under normal circumstances, this type of pain is more obvious, most women can not stand it, and will be accompanied by a lot of red blood clots.

2. There is blood accumulation in the uterine cavity. This situation often occurs on the day after the abortion. The patient has more obvious abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. During a gynecological examination, it can be found that the woman's uterus has obvious dull pain and the uterus volume is larger than normal.

3. A hole appears in the uterus. This kind of situation belongs to the complications after abortion, and the condition is serious. When a rupture occurs, the patient often experiences sudden severe abdominal pain. In addition, the patient will continue to experience vaginal bleeding.

From the above situations, we can see that if a woman experiences short-term mild pain after an abortion, it is generally normal. If a woman has pain for more than three days, the pain is severe and is accompanied by other abnormal symptoms, it means that the abdominal pain is not abnormal and she needs to see a doctor to determine the specific symptoms of the body.
