How many normal fetal movements are there in 5 months?

Fetal movement is closely related to the physical and mental health of the fetus, so how many fetal movements are considered normal? The baby's fetal movement in the fifth month of pregnancy refers to the period between 16 and 20 weeks of pregnancy. Generally speaking, the number of fetal movements is related to the gestational age. According to a previous scientific study, the average daily number of fetal movements observed by ultrasound was about 200 times at 24 weeks of pregnancy, reaching nearly 600 times a day at 32 weeks, and dropped to more than 200 times at full term.

Normally, the baby's fetal movement is not less than 3 to 5 times per hour, and the number of obvious fetal movements in 12 hours is more than 30 to 40 times. It depends on the individual's sensitivity level. Pregnant women who are more sensitive and careful can already notice slight fetal movements in the 3rd or 4th month of pregnancy. But most women notice mild fetal movement around 4.5 months of pregnancy.

Because fetuses vary greatly, some fetuses move about 100 times in 12 hours. As long as the fetal movement is regular and rhythmic, with little change, it proves that the baby's development is normal. The baby's fetal movement is normal, indicating that the placenta is functioning well, the oxygen supplied to the fetus is sufficient, the fetus is fully developed in the uterus, and is moving happily.

When the fetal movement is less than 20 times in 12 hours, or less than 3 times per hour, it indicates fetal intrauterine hypoxia. In the early stage of oxygen deficiency, the fetus will be restless and the frequency of fetal movement will increase. When the fetal intrauterine hypoxia worsens, the fetal movement gradually weakens and the frequency decreases, which is a sign of fetal danger. If effective treatment measures are not taken at this time, the baby will experience a decrease in fetal movement or even a decrease in the fetal heartbeat, and eventually die. This whole process takes about 12 to 48 hours. Therefore, once a pregnant woman finds abnormal fetal movement, she must not take chances. She should go to the obstetrics department for treatment first. Immediate treatment can often avert danger.
